i was breast feeding my baby full time till he completed his 3 months. then after wards we started some rice soup. so he reduced his intake of breast milk. and my breast milk secretion also reduced. now again he wants more of brest milk...as he drinks ,will my breast milk secrete more or will it secrete the same amount (less amount which secreted when he was fed with a soup).he is now going to complete his fourth month. and his needs have become more.

Bless you for breastfeeding your baby! You are giving him the most important gift that you can ever give him next to life itself! There is a strong relationship between the education level of the mother and whether or not she nurses her baby. The fact that you are nursing shows that you cared enough to be well informed and that you are an intelligent lady. Your baby is lucky to have a mommy like you!
Having said that, let me answer your question. It is a very good and very important one.
The more your baby nurses, the more milk your body will create. It is natures perfect example of supply and demand. The more milk your baby "demands" the more milk your body will "supply". It works beautifully.
I am not sure why you felt the need to add rice to your baby's diet. As young as he is what he really requires is more breastmilk. He will not actually need any other food for several more months. (around 6 months) His little immature digestive system is just not prepared to digest rice. It is basically just making the trip in one end and out the other. You have already noticed that he wants more breastmilk. The answer to this is to nurse him more often. As often as he wants until your supply of milk is adequate.
The important thing to remember is that breast milk is almost magical in its capabilities. Scientists admit that they cannot duplicate nor even identify all of the qualities of human milk. Your milk helps to immunize your baby boy against all of the diseases that you have successfully defeated in your life time. When you nurse him you convey those immunities to him. Not only that but you are giving him a food that is so perfectly digested and so perfectly perfected to his system that nothing man has created can come close to duplicating it. It has even been proven to raise a child's IQ! It creates a bond between the mother and child that is still being studied and explored. It is indeed a great deal more than a way to feed your baby.
My advice would be to slowly cut back on the amount of rice soup that you say you are giving him, and nurse him more often to make up for it. Pretty soon your body will catch up and he will be at his normal number of feedings but will be getting a great deal more milk each time.
Again, congratulations on making such a superior choice to breastfeed your precious son. You have given him the perfect start in life and one that he will always be proud of. I have had the reward of seeing my children ( and others) grow up and seen how proud they are to be able to say "My Mother breastfed me".
Keep up the good work and if there is any way at all that I can help you please feel free to write to me or contact your local chapter of La Leche League, they also have a website.
Love and Blessings to you!

Breast milk is made using a system of supply and demand...Whatever your baby needs is what your breasts will supply.

Check out the site below. Le Leche League International is a great resource for breastfeeding moms. There are articles on almost anything you can think of or have problems with.

Most areas also have a local league and you can connect with other bf mom's in your area which provides a great level of support.

If you follow his lead and let him nurse on cue, your body will ramp up production to meet his new needs. Breastmilk is really what he needs now, not rice cereal/soup. He's pretty young to be eating that. Breastmilk is a compelete food and will provide him with everything he needs. The more you nurse, the more milk your body will make.

Your milk will decrease and increase on demand for now. As your baby gets older, it will slowly decrease more and more. But for now, although it may take a few days, your milk will increase as your baby encounters a growth spurt (thus requiring more milk)

Your body will most likely adapt to his needs. There is a miraculous connection between a mother and her child. As the baby's needs change; the mothers body adapts increasing or decreasing.
