Do you also hate it when people say stuff like "I have a 3 year old and a 2 year old, so it's like having twins." Clearly it is not like twins. People tell my husband and I similar stuff all the time and we hate it.

that I started babysitting recently has the strangest thing happening to her head: on the top of her head, you know, the soft spot area, pulses all the time. It really pops up and down when she cries, but not only then. I see it throbbing constantly. I've never seen this with other infants. Has anyone else seen this and know wht it is? Thanks

I am a choreographer exploring themes for my next dance project. I'd like to know; as an adult with ties to that child, what kinds of hopes and dreams you have for a child when they are first born? Such as for them to be healthy, to get along with their siblings, etc . . .
Thanks for your help!

Im going to visit family w/ my newborn. I will be with my mom, so I will not be travling alone. Most of the driving is highway. I guess my question is to moms who have done this with infants. Do they tend to sleep that whole time? He loves the car. What should I pack. I bottle feed! Just any experiances would be helpful!

I've been breastfeeding my newborn who's 5wks. And when my milk first came in my breasts were a lot bigger and fuller feeling. Now they don't seem to get engored near as fast and they don't feel as big as in the beggining. Is that normal to have happen once breastfeeding has been established? I still feel the let down sensation, and he seems to be getting enough (poopy diapers, lots of peeing, and not fussing once he's eaten). Can your milk supply just drop for no reason? I eat enough, drink enough, and he nurses like every 1-3 hrs during the day just depending. He only nurses for about 10 minutes at a time on one side though, is that OK? I also don't need to pump like I did to begin with, can someone please help with this question! First baby too!!!!!!

What do you do to help soothe them? My baby is 19 1/2 weeks. This is her second ear infection in the past month. She just about got rid of one and got another cold. Which helped it come back. The weather here is crazy and I know that's whats giving her this cold. One day it's 70 the next 40 and I continue to dress her warm. The last time she had an infection it was crazy. The constant screaming and I felt bad. What do you do to help them feel better besides the antibiotics? Does anything help put your baby at ease?

Alright, So this is my question-

EVERY time we lay our daughter in her bassinet to sleep, She grabs her cover, And throws it over her face. It scares me TO DEATH! BUT...If we move the cover, even slightly, She wakes up and is NOT a happy camper.

I am SO afraid that she is going to get tangled up in the blanket, and not be able to breathe...How on EARTH to I solve this problem?

I don't know if it's in my 'genes' or what, But my now, 21 month old son, Did the same thing when he was an infant.

I've tried using different blankets (Most of the ones we have, Have the silky edging on them) and she rubs her fingers through it, I thought maybe if she had a blanket with no silky edging, She would stop, Not so, She still rubs and rubs and rubs until the blanket is covering half of her face.

Any suggestions?

First off I want to say I am not intending to offend anyone. Why some(not all) breastfeeding mothers "bash" mothers who don't breastfeed. I did not breastfeed but I don't need to be bashed because that was my choice. I understand that everyone has their own opinion but to say I am a bad mother because I didn't not breastfeed is uncalled for. Does anyone else who formula feed feel the same way.

I started having contractions last night, around midnight. At first, they were like 7 minutes apart, after couple hours they became stronger and only 5 minutes apart. Then I took tylenol PM and I slept for 5 hours. After I woke up, which was probably like 2 hours ago, I started having them again. The pain is mostly located in my lower back, going to the front. Also I woke up with my panties all wet from the discharge, I didn't have much of it in pregnancy, so it was new, too... I am curious - would I be able to sleep throught labor? Do you think it is real or false alarm? Oh, and I started loosing my mucous plug two days ago, but I don't think I lost the whole thing, it wasn't as much as everybody says it should be.

My daughter is 11 months old and is having tear-duct surgery Friday. They will give her a general anesthesia to put her out, then either probe them or put a stent in , depending on how tight it is. It will be outpatient. They will also give her an i.v. if necessary. I would like to hear from other parents if your child has been through this and what your experience is, and also recovery.

My baby is 6 month old and I'm switching from breast milk to formula. I started mixing formula with breast milk so she could tolerate the new taste and she did! Now I'm full into formula (Enfamil Lipil) after fully breastfeeding her for 6 whole months.

Because of the formula intake, her bowel habits have changed. She has 1 bowel movement within 2 days. For example, she has a bowel movement on Thurday, no movement on Saturday, and a bowel movement on Sunday. This is her new pattern, at least for this week that I just started with formula. Is this normal? Will her bowel movements change to a daily routine? Please help. Thanks!

I had a wonderfull shower with my first son, and i would like one with my second child now. Not really to get gifts but to make it fair. I have all these great pics and storys with my first one and i want my second child to have the same things. Do i plan it myself? No one eles has mentioned it. But i feel rude inviting people to my own baby shower. And who all do you invite? At my 1st my family invited alot of people and family that i barley ever see, is that normal. I dont have much friends or close family. Should i send out invitations that say dont bring gifts. I just want the pics and storys and something to put in the baby book. Did you have a shower for each child? Whats normal?

Ok I posted this question the other day and I didn't get very many responses so I am posting it again. My daughter is 5 months old but she is about the size of a 12 month old(20lbs, 29 1/2 in) I am worried that she isn't getting enough to eat. She is growing but she acts hungry all the time. Her doctor told me to feed her 24oz of formula a day and cereal at bedtime(which my doctor said is all a 5 month old needs). However I feel since she is bigger she needs more to eat than a normal 5 month old. So my question is since she is the size of a 12 month old shouldn't she be eating the amount of food that a 12 month old eats(not the same food just the same amount of food ex: stage 1 foods or more cereal)? Thanks in advance and I hope my question wasn't confusing.

My baby is 9 weeks old, and ever since she was born she will not take a bottle or pacifier, all she wants is to breast feed. first i thought it was the formula in the bottle she didn't like, so i also was putting breastmilk in it and she would not take it. she cry's and will not give the bottle a chance but right away she will take the breast. i don't know how to get her to take a bottle. it makes it hard because i can never leave the house with out her so some one else can watch her.
