I had a c-section on Dec. 14th. I had lochia for about a month, then a brown discharge that was real thick, with some clots in it. I assumed this was maybe a menstrual cycle. But about two days after that stopped, I had a huge gob of clear mucus come out in the shower, and am now leaking this thick clear mucus. Did anyone else experience this after having a c-section? Or maybe is it me ovulating? I didn't get the thick mucus when ovulating before I was pregnant, I usually could tell by a few sharp cramps in my ovaries. I'm also finding it hard to have a BM too in the last few days. Is it all related? I was breastfeeding for a few weeks but got sick and dried up, so the baby is on formula only and has been for about 2 weeks now. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know if I am providing enough mental stimulation for my son. Should I be trying to teach him numbers, colors, shapes, etc? My husband says not to worry, he is still really young, but I am thinking that there is sooooo many things to teach him! I should be really cracking down...or am I overreacting! lol! My husband and I are really the only people he sees most of the time. I just want to give my son the best start and don't want him to be delayed in knowing his colors or something because I didn't teach them to him early enough! Advice would be much appreciated.

I am about 4 months pregnant, and am looking for a website that has recipes for homemade baby products- shampoo, diaper rash cream, moisturizer, that sort of thing. Also want a website that has recipes and tips for making your own baby food and freezing or storing it. I want to do things as naturally and simply as possible with this baby, and not rely so much on store bought products.
We live rural, which makes it harder to get products in the first place.
So, any TIPS,, ADVICE, or WEBSITES with the sort of info I am looking for would be appreciated!

PS- I'm not totally stuck on the organic issue, but want to have this baby enjoy a natural, simple state of life, not overburdened with Huggies and Pampers and other brand name products. Thanks!

What age do you start to let babies stand on their legs with just holding their hands to try to walk? I know it depends on their leg strength, but when is to early?

well when i had my first daughter, i had read a lot about mother child bonding. one of these things included taking a bath/shower with your child so that the child could bond with you and know your touch a little more than just holding him/her during feedings. now, my ex mother in law, was totally against that! but, i was raised to "bond" with my child in this sort of way. and i am about to have #2 and would love to do this again with my little boy. what is your opinion on the mother-child bonding? and what can be done to prevent my mother in law NOW to not care what i do with the bonding sessions and support me in a way that my husband can't considering he is in iraq?

We have two options so far.
Taylor ________ Neumann or
Hailie _________ Neumann

I think it should be 1 or 3 syllables, but we cant find any that go with both of these names. Yet we are sure one of these will be the first name.

I am half chinese and half white. My fathers side is from southern china and is quite dark skinned with dark hair and eyes. My mother was from English and Scotish descent and was a red head with blue eyes. I am medium toned and my looks lean very much to the chinese side with just a hint of a mix. My husband is mix black and white. His fater is very tall with dark skin eyes and hair and his mother is of scottish descent with blonde hair and blue eyes. My husband has a beautiful mocha tone with freakles. He looks very very mixed. If you had any idea, what do you think our baby would look like?

My one month old has real bad diaper rash. My sister tells me it's the wipes. I use Huggies sensitive wipes. I also use Desitin and Balmex whenever I change his diapers. The ointment only reduces the skin rash. I want it to go away forever what should I do?

My son is 5-month old and wakes up every 3-4hrs to feed during the night. He was exclusively breast-fed until 4months. Since then his night feed has been formula and the last 2 weeks i have started introducing solids. He is a hungry baby and at 20wks weighed 20lb4oz. Doctors say he is a happy & content baby and just all over big. When he was 3months old he would sleep with only waking up once a night, then went through a face waking up every second hour and now every 3-4hrs. He will not go back to sleep unless he gets a feed. How can I teach him to only wake up once and eventually sleep through the night without using the cry it out method. I have tried to let him cry it out but it does not work during the night and just leaves the both of us very upset. I think he is genuinely hungry when he wakes up and after speaking to a doctor have tried to get him to eat more during the day but he still feeds every 3-4hrs through the clock. Any tips appreciated x

Hi, I just had my son on the 24th. I am nursing and did with my daughters, but that was over four years ago. And not very sucessful. My biggest question is, do they always get ingorged? I have been nursing since he was born, and they are not hurting YET. But when my milk comes in, will it? What could I do to help not get ingorged?
