I started having contractions last night, around midnight. At first, they were like 7 minutes apart, after couple hours they became stronger and only 5 minutes apart. Then I took tylenol PM and I slept for 5 hours. After I woke up, which was probably like 2 hours ago, I started having them again. The pain is mostly located in my lower back, going to the front. Also I woke up with my panties all wet from the discharge, I didn't have much of it in pregnancy, so it was new, too... I am curious - would I be able to sleep throught labor? Do you think it is real or false alarm? Oh, and I started loosing my mucous plug two days ago, but I don't think I lost the whole thing, it wasn't as much as everybody says it should be.

Sounds pretty real to me, especially since you lost your mucus plug. Mine wasn't a big deal, either. It just looked like a phlegm ball someone would hack up during a cold. I was always told real labor pains often move toward the front, although I didn't have that experience. They are also gradually getting stronger and closer together. Good luck!!!!!!!! Keep in mind, too, all women are different.

Are you serious? If so, here's the deal...time the contractions. If they are 5 minutes or closer, call the doctor. If they aren't getting closer together, sit down and relax for 20 minutes to see if they dissipate. They could be Braxton Hicks.

In either case, you should not be asking here! That is what you have an Ob for! Good Luck

I think you are starting real labor.

I sleep through the begining of my labor. Then I woke up felt sick for a few hours maybe four hours. Contractions weren't that strong.

Then I felt like i had the flu and i had to go poo but it was really the pressure.

But ya i slept through a lot of mine in the begining.

I would kept and eye on it and get ready to go.

If I were you I would go to the hospital now. You could be leaking amniotic fluid which if goes on to long can cause infection for you and the baby. I just went through the same thing saturday night having contractions and leaking amniotic fluid and waited til sunday morning to go to the hospital. Because my amniotic fluid was leaking they induced labor. Go to the hospital and get checked out. They can do a test to determine whether you are leaking amniotic fluid or not. The most that can happen is they can send you home if it is false labor.

The discahrge you had this AM was probably the rest of your mucous plug. It sounds like you could be in labor, try walking around alot and see if the contractions get stronger and closer together. If they do...you are in labor...call your doctor. Good luck, I am excited for you!

Sounds like you've started labor. Mine started with low back pain at 2am. By 4am the pain was every five mins. starting in my lower back and radiating into my lower abdomen and then continuing up and all over my abdomen. It (my tummy) would get hard like a rock. If the you can time them every 5 mins. and they last 45secs-1or11/2mins, then your in real labor. Good luck and congrats!

It could be labor. Your water might be leaking. The best thing to do would be to call your doctor ASAP. You can sleep through early labor. Your doctor can discuss your symptoms with you and make that determination.

I don't know how many weeks you are, but it sounds like you are about ready to go. Sleep through labor? I did, but I was most fortunate
Good Luck!
