Yes, breastfeeding can mess with your cycles. Some moms don't get periods the whole time they are nursing.

First off, if this is only your second period there's really no way to know if it was "late" since you don't know how long your cycles are going to be now. They may not be the same length as before you got PG.

Second, your cycles can be irregular while nursing. If baby nurses more one month, your cycle may be longer. If baby nurses less one month, your cycle may be shorter.

I didn't get my cycles back until much later (10 mos, 9.5 mos and 16 mos after my 3 were born.) My cycles would be LONG at first, some around 55 days. It would take me maybe 4-5 months to begin to see a pattern to how long they were going to be.

I didn't get my period til my son was 8 months old and I was still breastfeeding. I think it was because he was eating a lot more solids. It is perfectly normal to be going through what you are. At first I almost thought I was pregnant but then finally got my period.

I didn't have a period until a month after I stopped breastfeeding.

Yes it does. It can cause you to NOT have a period while breast feeding. Its totally normal.

If you still have doubts call your Dr and speak to them about this.
