I have a 5 week old beautiful baby girl. She is starting to stay awake more often, usually fighting her sleep (lol). She gives a few little smiles here and there, and when she's awake I'm always by her side talking to her and smiling at her, and generally playing with her.

About what generalized age do newborns start interacting more with their parents, laughing, smiling, cooing, etc? I don't want her to grow up too quickly but I'm real excited about her reaching this milestone!

Please, serious answers only please!

He is only on bottle, and I have been exclusively pumping. He is up to about 2 1/2 oz per feeding about every 3-4 hours but i can not pump enough for him. I was pumping every time he was eating, and Im not getting enough. Now Im pumping every 2 hours and hardly getting anything... is my body going to automaticly start pumping our more? This last time I pumped for 15 minutes and only pumped 15cc's all together. This stinks!

My 8 month old daughter was actively using some signs to communicate with me. In the last few days, she has reverted to whining instead of using her signs. We do not give into her when she does this, and she eventually forgets. The next time we prompt her for the sign, she again, whines and doesn't use it.

We are not giving into the whining. What I would like to know is this: has anyone else experienced something similar, where your baby is skilled at something for months, then simply refuses to do it, when you know she/he can and understands what you want?

Thanks :)

Why do some parents give their babies a bottle to fall asleep?
Don't they know how damaging this is to their teeth?
Can't they see that they are teaching their babies to depend on eating to fall sleep, or are they just too lazy and don't care?
Does this annoy anyone else?
