I used to rub my son's tummy in a circular pattern. I _think_ it's supposed to go clockwise (something having to do with their digestion).

How To Get Rid Of Baby Gas

You should burp him or her better. Sometimes it takes those burbs a long time to come out, maybe even 30 minutes or longer. You can also use Mylicon Gas Drops or Little Tummies. But, are you sure that is the problem? I have had three kids and at 2 months old, it is hard sometimes to tell what is wrong. Have you recently switched from breast to bottle, or changed formula? That can cause an upset stomach and constipation also. If your baby is having the same problem(s) continuously, you may need to take him or her to the doctor.

My son had bad tummy aches- we used to give him mylacon drops after every feeding- the doctor said it was safe to. When that didnt work I would lay him on my stomach with his stomach (skin to skin), they say that the warmth of the tummies touching would help the gas move. Also bicylcling his legs might make the gas move. Also it can depend on the formula that you are giving your baby, they now make this kind of formula called gentlease (it has a lavendar label) its made by lipil. A doctor will have to prescribe it if you are on WIC but other than that it worked for my son. Now if hes breastfeeding I would try all of the above except the formula, but if your baby is on formula talk to the babys doctor about switching. Also when my son was two months old we were still burping him every two ounces, you might try that and when you do burp him move from the bottom of the back upwards. I dont know how often you bupr your baby but you can try that. Also massaging the babys back from bottom to top might help too. Good luck

Try mylicon gas drops. Put a little bit in some water or the breastmilk or formula. Put your baby across your lap or chest so you are putting slight pressure on your baby's tummy and rub the back. Also keep burping too using a cupped hand. I liked starting from the diaper and moving up the back. Fortunately, I only experienced it once with my daughter and she's now 19 months old. Good luck!

Burping after eating is the best preventative (baby, not you).

I had a kid that didn;t burp easy. I would hold them by the chest, letting the head hang slightly forward amd let the legs dangle a bit. It stretched the body and helped the gas to pass. I suported the feet again and rubbed the back to relax the muscles. Pick up a 1/2 minute again and stretch, rubbing and patting

Moving and letting the baby stretch seems to move the gas and help it pass.

Also be sure that it is not something else. DId the baby crap recently? Is it reacting to the milk formula?

if your breastfeeding it could be something in your diet that does not agree with your child. with my little boy we used the mylcan drops, little tummies, which would work for a couple of weeks and then stop. what finally ended up working the best was taking a washcloth wet it water and then put it in the microwave for about 25 seconds and then wrap it in a dishtowel and place in a ziploc bag and then place on top of his blanket over his stomach he would end up passing the gas. we went through this every night from around 11:00 p.m. until sometimes 3 or 4:00 in the morning until he was about 11 months old. if this happens occasionally it could just be a tummy ache if this happens often it probably is colic you may need to change formula.
good luck

Give the baby some catnip tea or put some baking soda on the tip of the bottle before they drink it it will make the baby burp and get all that gas out. It sounds like the baby has collic (air, and gas)

All the answers are great. There's a baby ovol available at the pharmacy that helps in extreme cases. But rubbing belly clockwise is good, a warm bath and warm water in the bottle should help too,
