How old is the baby? for the first 3 months or so, a baby is not able to sleep through the night since it needs to be fed. Even at 3 months old, what most people call sleeping through the night is when the child sleeps about 6 hours straight. I would recommend feeding the baby right before you go to sleep. Many will take a bottle or breastfeed while they are still half asleep. I've known some people who were getting up with their kids until the child was a year old or more. When they are that old, they are just used to being fed in the middle of the night, but don't really need to be fed. It sounds cruel, but my mother-in-law told me that at some point you just have to start ignoring their night time cries and they will learn to sleep through the night. Good luck!

You can't make your baby sleep through the night, whenever they are ready they do it by theirself. My son is 10 months old and he started sleeping through the night with about 6 months, i tried everything before that, bathing him, making sure that he is not hungry before he goes to bed, i took him outside and i kept him up long enough before his nightsleep, but all that didn't help. My doctor told me whenever he is ready he will sleep, and that's how it was. He don't have to take a bath or go outside or even when he drinks just a lil bit of his milk, he still sleeps all night now, so give your baby some time and be patient, there is no way to "make" your baby sleep through the night.

Try to keep her/him up throughout the day more than normally. And around 7 or 8 give the baby a bath and after her bath give her/him a bottle,I put a little put of cereal in her bottle with the last feeding. And she usually sleeps through the night and wakes up about 7 or 8 in the morning. Hope this helps :)

Every infant is different. Some will sleep all night at a few months while others are 2 before they do. The best thing is to be consistent with bed time. Children thrive on routine. Bath, story and bed. It doesn't matter as long as it is consistent. There are tapes, DVDs and videos available for children that help calm them down and get them in the mood for sleep. One involves baby animals yawning and going to sleep with soft relaxing music. Maybe you can try one of these.

If your baby is at least 8 weeks old and you have not started feeding the baby food yet, you may want to put a little cereal in her bottle so she/he feels full a little longer and you can get some rest. Make sure it's still thin though. It works. The baby will not be harmed. If the food doesn't work then look at other things such as noise in the home and the time you put her to bed. You might even want to put her bed in your room on occassion for a little bit. Do whatever you need to do to get some rest. A tired mother is not a happy mother.

The universal dilemma! If baby is 4mths or older, I finally found haveing a consistant bedtime routine works great. At the same time every night, dim the lights (absence of light triggers hormones that make you feel sleepy), give a warm bath or bottle, one or two stories and lay baby down sleepy but awake. Being put down awake teaches babies how to put themselves to sleep if they wake up inthe night. Baby may not like it at first, but consistancy is key.

Change his schedule around so that after you feed him, you keep him awake and play with him (don't let him fall asleep with the breast or bottle in his mouth). Then, depending on his age, anywhere between 30 minutes and 2 hours later, rock him to sleep or even just put him in his crib and let him go to sleep on his own. If you do this, it will help regulate his digestive system and increase greatly his ability to go longer between feedings, especially at night.
We did this with my daughter from birth, and she slept through the night at 7 weeks.

It depends on how old your baby is they start sleeping through the night at 6 months and you can give them a small amount of pablem before bed so that he/she feels full and don't wake up at night

You may want to adjust his feeding schedule. He may sleep better a short time after a feeding, on a full stomach. Also try giving him a warm bath in the evening. The baby wash with lavender oil can help sooth him. I think Johnson & Johnson have a baby wash with lavender in it. Lavender room or linen spray in the baby's room may help (but check with the pediatrician about this first).
