My 3 week old seems extra gassy today. Lots of tooting and just seems out of sorts today. She only wants held or wants to eat? She is bottle fed. Isn't there some kind of gas relief drops to give them, and is she too young?

Is there a special place in hell specifically for mothers who choose not to breastfeed? If so, will all of the breast feeding advocates of Y!A be there to tortue those mothers who choose not to breastfeed?

It just saddens me to have read in a previous question.. that several of these women are out right passing negitive judgement on mothers who choose not to breastfeed. I did breast feed my son.. and that doesn't make me a better mother than anyone.

Are we we supposed to just be a robot that only is allowed to pay bills, balance the checkbook, clean the home, do the laundry (babies go through mounds in a day), eat, do our homework, maintain the garden, and tend to our older child(ren) when the baby is napping or out for the evening?

Is it sinful and blasphemous to include the baby in adult chores where applicable? Or is baby wake time, simply play time for baby and nothing else?

Are we parents allowed to finish an assignment for class while baby entertains himself? Maybe even ask a question on Y!A for craps and giggles?

Is it sinful to only spend 92% of your time with your baby? Is it okay to spend 4% on oneself and your older child(ren), and 4% on housework?

Is wanting a tidy home for a crawling baby to explore bad? Or should parents just leave messes where they lay, and delve into the warp zone of baby 24-7 and neglect all else?

Hypothetical situation: Your house needs to be cleaned. Namely, the kitchen floor. You just finished cleaning some meat and there is some dripping on the floor. Your 9 month old baby is in high gear and wants to toddle and crawl all over the floor by you. She's whining over being in the pen. Does a good parent:

A.) Police up the germy mess and sanitize the floor and let it dry, maybe do some 15 minute quick tidying while you can as well before letting baby out?

B.) Just say the hell with it, let the baby out just because she wants out?

C.) Put off everything that needs to be done to clean the home and just play with the baby?

When do you start using a forward facing car seat? I see so many babies who look huge in those rear facing car seats. I was wondering what the limits are? Thanks!

Hypothetical situation: It's time for dinner. The baby is done eating her supper and wants out of the highchair to play. Baby gets put down, and is given a sippy of milk. Now it's time for the big people to have supper. However, baby is whining because she wants someone to play a game with her.

Should the parents A: Leave their supper and go play with the baby, eat at 2100 when the baby goes to sleep?

Or should the parents B: Place baby in the playpen and give her a bunch of toys to enetrtain her while they have supper.

Which of these is the right course of action? Said child is 9 months old, going on 30.

I don't want to breastfeed. I couldn't even imagine my breasts sagging and seeing some one other than a grown man sucking on them. I also don't think I could handle it. Is is okay--meaning healthy--not to breastfeed?

Here is a person, a mother, obviously having a genuine hard time with her baby. Instead of advice and sympathy, most people from the Y!A henhouse gathered into the yard to peck her to pieces and tell her what an atrocious mother she is. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ApfiV2MWNZ2rjkQJMaomKAbzy6IX?qid=20060912094658AAdHBQd

This is crazy. Like none of you have never had a bad time with your precious darlings. I'm sure she loves her child very much, it just sounds like she is incredibly stressed. Hows about being a kind human being from time to time and give a kind word? Or is this catfight and best mommy contest central? Does her honesty make you jealous or something? I know I am a smartass from time to time up here, but I do have a heart, and I can tell when someone is really needing a few kind words. I agree the asker should seek some releif in real life, but it would not hurt anyone to give her some good, friendly advice either.

I'm looking for your thoughts on Baby sleepbags / growbags. Would you recommend them. Do they help keep baby at a better temperature. Are you for or against them. And, finally, do you still need to use feet to foot sleeping position? I'm assuming not.

Thoughs and opinions please.

My daughter loves tomatoes! It’s so funny because I never though she would…maybe she does because I ate them all the time when I was pregnant with her! She is five months old and has been eating for about a month now. I've tried noodles and a few gerber products but she doesn't seem to like them. Other then the tomatoes that she eats morning, noon, and night, what can I feed her? Also what is your son/daughter’s favorite food?

Here are some names I picked out that I love and want to know what everyone else thinks. I know it doesn't matter what others think, but I just don't want to give my child a name if the rest of the world thinks it's weird. I've only picked out two for each gender because that's probably all I'll need but anyway, let me know what you think of them...thanks!

Not the same room of course. But can I paint other rooms, with good ventilation, or is it best to wait till the child is older or not in the house?

My baby girl is 9 months old. Has never slept through the night. She is breasfeed. Lately, she has not slept longer then 2 hours at a time. Does anyone have any good secrets to putting her down and keeping her asleep?
I bathe her and read to her and start to put her to sleep around 830pm- usually takes a half hour of back rubbing to get her asleep. Then every 2 hours she pops her head up- I wait a few min to see if she will go back down, but that uaually leads to crying. If this is how she is, that is fine, but I feel like there is more I could do, something I am not doing right.
Thanks you!

I noticed a lot of answers in the cosleeping questions listed dependence on mom and dad as a downside to cosleeping. But what is so bad with dependence on mom and dad? They're babies, they're supposed to be dependent, aren't they?

I do infant potty training with my baby, and a lot of people will say that it's making a baby grow up too fast to do so, but then I get the argument that cosleeping causes too much dependency on mom and dad. So why is it okay for babies to be independent with sleep but when it comes to potty training an infant, it is a different story?

So I'm genuinely asking here-- what's so bad about dependence on mom and dad?
