I don't think caucasian babies are ever born with brown eyes. My cousin just had a baby who's quite brown and has brown eyes. She's white and the guy she's saying is the father is white. But, the baby has brown eyes. I know newborns are a little discolored at first so I'm not counting the tan thing. But, brown eyes... Wouldn't that make them hispanic?

I am 5'7" tall and 23 years old. This is my first child. Before I got pregnant I weighed a toned 140. Now I am eight months pregnant and I weigh about 210. In the begining, I did not experience morning sickness and I gained 20 during my third month! I really don't think the weight has gone to any one particular spot, though I am thicker throughout and my face is plumper! And my gosh, my breasts went from a 36C to a 40E! I am planning on breast feeding, and I hear that helps a lot. Are there any other tricks to help get into shape? How long should you wait post partum to do sit ups/ crunches? Or will carring the baby in a sling be beniificial? Thanks!

Is it even tougher to get a slim waistline if your belly is really big? Mine sure is!

A friend of mine is a divorced father of a baby. He has joint custody. He complains that most men's rooms are not equipped with baby changing stations. I thought there were state or federal laws requiring this--but since I do not frequent these establishments I don't know.

He asked me to blog on the subject. So I am trying to gather some informmation and ideas.

I am curious how many men's rooms do have diaper changing areas.

Also--what should be done to encourage more? I am a libertarian and hate the idea of government regualtion in general. So I really don't like the idea of a government fiat in this area. But if it is a problem--maybe that is the only answer--no matter that it is another nauseating sounding politically correct idea.

Please share your experiences, knowledge, facts and ideas with me.

I've been introducing solids to my 9 1/2 month old for the past 3 months (with the 3 day allergy rule it takes FOREVER to try things!!!) and I'm constantly wondering what order things should come in and whether I've missed anything major.

Is there a good chart (or book) available (online or otherwise) suggesting foods from different food groups?

If I could just cross things off a list as we'd tried them that would be great and I wouldn't lie awake nights trying to think of what we should be trying next!!! (Can you tell I'm a first time mommy?)

My family, friends and co-workers joke that I got off easy with my unplanned c-section 9 months ago and that they're the celebrity's birth method of choice because of the tummy tuck effect. Well I'm sure not tucked!!!

I lost all my weight and 10 lbs more by 9 months postpartum while nursing. (Of course I had extra weight kicking around before I got pregnant and and then I got gestational diabetes, was monitored like crazy and only put on 18 pounds during my pregnancy.)

The weight must have left my arms or legs or something else though because I'm lighter than I was, but my tummy sure doesn't look the same at all!!

I'm still nursing (if that's what you can call a busy 9 month old eating for like 2 minutes a side 4-5 times a day) and the weightloss has tapered off now.

Dr didn't seem concerned. Has anyone elses Dear Child eaten this much at this age? He weighed 14lbs 11oz and was 24 1/4 inches long on monday and he was born at 7lbs 6oz and 20 1/2 inches long on June 27th. The nurse said I should start him on cereal, but I thought it was too soon to do that.

I have a 6 month old baby girl, i gained a great deal of weight during my pregnancy(65 pounds) I have already lost 50 pounds. It seems much harder this time around. When I had my first baby (7 yrs ago) The weight just melted off in two months, without me even doing anything! I heard so much about how when you breast feed, it is easier to get back into shape! BS! I cant get these last 15 pounds off, some women have told me that after you stop, it comes off faster. I know that all women are different, but is there some kind off biology to this? Please I want to hear from women with expierience. Thanks

My son will be a year old on Sept. 22. We are actually going to be through with the formula this week. I was thinking of going ahead and switching him to whole milk. He is on soy-based formula. My question is: how do I make the transition? Cold turkey or alternate for a few days?? Will it hurt to mix the soy formula with the whole milk?
Thanks.

I'm having the hardest time getting a burp out of my newborn. She doesn't seem to be uncomfortable at all...but I barely ever hear/feel a burp come out of her. Could someone give me some tried and true burping techniques?

P.S. She is being fed breastmilk from a bottle.

I have a beautiful seven-day-old baby girl who is a VERY good baby. The only time she cries is when we give her a bath. She doesn't tell us when her diaper is wet and when she's hungry, she just gives off little grunts...but doesn't cry. I know I should count my blessings, but as a first-time mommy, I want to know if this is something to be concerned about.

I've used desitin, vaseline, etc. I even try to let his bottom air out for a few hours during the day. I was watching THE VIEW yesterday and Rosie O'Donnell actually said her doctor advised her to use her dog's saliva to treat it...but i'm not too sure about that one!

My husband and I are thinking of bringing our baby along with us on holiday but that would involve a seven hour flight. I'm feeling nervous about the idea coz my baby is very active and I'm afraid that he may not take well to the flight especially since he likes to move about and on planes, this is restricted. Anyone has any tips?

My 7month old daugther was in the bed with us from about 4:30 this morning until six. My husband woke up and shook her and she didn't move. He panicked and grabbed he and shook her and she didn't rouse then either. He was about to perform CPR when she woke up.

Is this normal? Could it be sleep apnea? I'm not letting her sleep with us anymore because i'm too scared but I don't know if I should make a doctor's appointment.

I am going to start babysitting my friends 6 week old baby I am trying to find out how much to charge. Do you think 25.00 a day for a 12 hour day which is 125.00 for a 5 day week which is 500.00 a month which is 250.00 a payday. Week ends are extra ( they are in the navy and work everother weekend) and overnights are extra (agian in the navy and sometimes have to work overnight) anyway do you think those prices are reasonable? Or no? I mean I dont want to charge too much becauce we could use the money and I know they dont have a lot to spend. I called one place and its like 1900 a month for a 6 week old baby and other place was 600 a month.
