I have a 14 day old little girl and I have to go back to work soon. I was wondering how long does it take to get them on a schedule and how do you go about doing it? I know that every child is diffrent, but thought I would get a idea of what I need to do.

My son, Aidyn, is nine months old this week. He is still waking up three or more times a night, and nothing but a warm bottle put him back to sleep. He eats great during the day, takes naps well (even without the bottle), but at night, he won't stay asleep! It's been a year now since I have slept all night, and I am getting very tired... What can I do to help him sleep?

I've started a bit of a time capsule for my baby with all the cards I got when she was born and at her baptism, the paper from the day she was born, the outfit she wore home from the hospital etc.

I know SHE won't be blowing out any candles at her first birthday party, so I'd like everyone (mine and my husband's family) to write down their wishes for her. Then I want to give everyone a cupcake with a candle and get them to blow out the candle and put their wish in a box. I'll put them in her time capsule so she can have them when she's older.

Is this a good idea? Do you see any problems with the logistics of it? Has anyone else done anything similar for their baby?

My husband and I are trying for our first baby soon.

I am really hoping to breasfeed when I have my baby, but a lot of my friends said it was too hard and they quit.

How does a new mother learn to breastfeed?

-From reading internet information?
-From a nurse after giving birth?
-From books?

I feel discouraged already and I am not even pregnant. My mother breasfed 4 children and said it was so easy, but none of my friends "could do it."

Any advice?

Hi ! My son is 7 months old. I've been giving him solids before his milk, as discussed with my nurse, she said it didn't matter if I gave him breastmilk or formula (we do both) first or after the solids. And of course since I see what he drinks when he gets a bottle, sometimes it's not even 3oz. So needless to say, his stools are pretty hard to pass. Poor little guy forces pretty hard. I've tried to nurse or bottle before the solids, but then he won't eat any solids and doesn't take more than 3-4 oz anyway. Should he be taking 5-7oz at his age ? Has anyone gone through this ? Any advice for a first time mom ?

He used to sleep 7hours, since 4 weeks! Now he is getting up after 5, a few times after 3! Is this because I went back to work? Mamma needs her sleep!

he seems to know what I mean when I say NO!, but he just goes back and keeps doing it over and over, no matter how many times I say no. He just cries for a second and keeps on. What are some good tactics that I can use to teach him what is acceptable and what is not. Now I know a baby will be a baby, I mean stuff like spitting food all over the place, climbing on certain things, hitting people, etc. any help is appreciated!

This is my first child, my husband and I are thinking we need to change her formula and bottles. Now we are using imfamil lipil w/iron, and bottles are using vent air. We have used Dr Brown's, confeti playtex. I really want her to feel better, using the gas drops are not working. She seams that she is not happy with the formula. I heard that Carnation good start is a great formula to use. Please help

Thank you much

I'm at Stay at Home mother of a 5 month old (my first) and I'm just wondering if anyone could give me suggestions on how to loose these extra pounds or if anyone could share their experiences. I was 115 pounds before my pregnancy and I weighed 165 right before I gave birth and I've only lost 25 pounds. I see other skinny mom's with their babies and it makes me feel awful. Any ideas? Thanks so much.

I have a 6 mo old and he is on Simalac Advance w/Iron(milk-based) he started with watery poo and the doc switched him to Simalac Advance(soy) and he spits up with that formula. I changed back to the milk-based formula and the watery poops are back. Is there some other formula I may have to try? Is there only milk-based and soy formulas? Thanks for all your helps.
