It depends on who you are visiting. I would say no because believe it or not hosiptals have more germs that you think. ( I use to work at one) Now, I did take my 5 month old son at the time to the hosiptal when my Dad was diagnosed w/ a terminal cancer. I was in such shock that I didn't think twice about letting my Dad see my son. A couple nurses were very nasty to me but, I didn't aknowledge their comments. I went home and gave my son a bath right away. He never got sick and I took him to see my Dad on a few occasions.

Hospitals have alot of diseases. assuming your baby is perfectly healthy and has no immune deficiencies though and this person hasn't seen the baby yet and it's a shot period of time and the person isnt' going to be coughing on the baby just kissing and cuddling, I don't really see why not. It's a confined space. I'd shut the door to the room though and cover up the baby while passing throught he halls on the way to the person's room though if you are really worried. Hospitals may have policies about underage children visiting people so check with them about it.

Ultimately it is up to you, but if I could avoid it, I wouldn't take him/her. It also depends on the illness of the person, you are going to visit. If you do, I would just be sure to make it a short visit and not to touch too many things within the hospital and use hand sanitizer each time you touch the baby during the visit.

I think that would depend on what area of the hospital you are visiting and if the person you are visiting is sick, or did they just have a baby or something like that. There are lots of germs in hospitals, if your child is prone to upper respitory disease I wouldn't take her there.

If you have a way to leave her at home or with someone do so. Why take the chance if you don't have to? I guess it would also depend on why you are visiting someone. Is the person you are visiting sick? or did they have a baby or something like that? If they themselves have no illness that can be caught, and you have no one to watch her, take her. But I would try and keep her away if possible.

I wouldn't if it was a routine hospital stay - I would ask the nursing staff if it a situation where a person was gravely in and maybe not expected to make it home. When my grandpa was in the hospital years ago, I asked if my toddler could visit - in the circumstances they said yes and I was glad that I took her.

I know that when I had my baby in the hospital the minimum age was one year for visitiors so you may want to contact the hospital or check the hospital website for more details...I think it goes by them.

there is no more disease in that hospitals then there is walking through a department store, and at least in the hospital things are cleaned properly and people wash their hands appropriately.
