She is probably getting colic or she may have gas. If she is drawing her knees up and crying, it is probably gas. Get her some mylicon gas drops. If it's not gas, go ahead and call her doc and let him know she may have colic. It isn't anything serious, but frustrating. It can last several weeks. My daughter had it and it lasted 6 weeks, but seemed like 12! Good luck!

Sounds to me to be a bit of colic, both my children had colic it didn't matter what I did they would just cry no loving or food would comfort them this could go on for some hours, my son always got it about the same time every day so I knew exactly what it was with him. I used to put them over my knee' s tummy first and rub there backs this often did the trick. don't forget babies and children can pick up the stress from you and this can make them restless. I would still advise you to speak to a doctor or health visitor it's always better to be safe than sorry. Good luck.

Be patient...newborns have off days too. She could have wind pains or just an upset tummy from something mum has eaten n transfered thru her breast milk (if she's being fed that way) If u don't believe mum's diet has much affect listen to this:
I was breast feeding my daughter when she was about two months old. My partner n I had KFC chicken pieces for lunch one day. Which wasn't an issue for two days but when that issue popped up whoaaa! baby. The next day my body must've converted the chicken's nutrients to milk n been subsequently consumed by my lil girl. The next day fffwaarrr, She had THE funky bum to rule all funky nappies in history!! Imagine if u can, twice preloved KFC not so original recipe now eminating from a huggies nappy! My daughter is two n half now n i still haven't eaten KFC original chicken since! My sense memory just refuses to let go of that one! Good luck n may u guys have lovely sense memories to recall too! lol

I reckon at only 6 days it may well be wind , you can tell if shes bringing her knees up all the time , means a sore tummy , if not maybe she just wants to be held , remember she was in a close fitting space for as long and maybe shes not so sure of outside the womb , hold her close . Do you think she`s hungry still maybe ? If you are still worried after all responses here give your midwife a call , she will have left u a contact number for the first 14 days (if ur in the uk) .
Good luck , enjoy that lovely little girl they grow so fast ...

Probably gas. Has she had a bowel movement today? Make sure you are getting about 6 wet diapers a day. And at this young age if on breast milk she should get at least one bm a day. If she's constipated try a tiny bit of water in a bottle, less than 1/2 ounce at this age.
Golden rule for a new baby: if she's crying for more than 5 minutes, feed her.
Has your milk supply come in fully? Is she getting enough milk? Pump to see how much you are feeding her.

The first few days the baby is still a little numb from everything, and then they start to wake up a little bit! My son totally did that. It depends on how upset the baby is, though. My son definately showed he was unhappy more often, seemingly because of gas, but it wasn't all the time. If the child is breastfeeding try making your diet a little blander and take out milk products, that helped my son. If you are using formala talk to the doc about changing it. But don't worry, it is normal for the baby to be really quiet for a few days and then "wake up".

Usually this is gas of the stomach. Make sure you burp the child well by either putting over the shoulder and patting or across the lap and patting on the back or rubbing the back. Don't feed cold milk. I have found that many new parents have gotten away from warming milk- what temperature do you think breast milk is when it is drunk. If this is not the problem you need to see the child's doctor.

It could be stomach discomfort, check her bowel movements, to make sure she is regular, if formula fed, many formulas with iron can cause stool problems. Her body temperature could also be a facture, too warm, too cool, make sure she's comfortable. If she is fed, clean, and cuddled, and still fussy a bit, try different toys etc. for stimulation, if all else fails, she may need to see the doctor... for things such as a possible ear infection. When in doubt, take her for a visit to her pediatrician. I stayed up many nights with no sleep with my twins. It will get better. Best Wishes.

gas, indigestion, diaper rash, general yuckiness, tired, getting adjusted to the outside world. But with a newborn it is better to be safe then sorry-call the doctor and leave a message with answering service on symptoms and the doctor should call back with advise on whether you should bring the baby in or not.
