Here is a person, a mother, obviously having a genuine hard time with her baby. Instead of advice and sympathy, most people from the Y!A henhouse gathered into the yard to peck her to pieces and tell her what an atrocious mother she is. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ApfiV2MWNZ2rjkQJMaomKAbzy6IX?qid=20060912094658AAdHBQd

This is crazy. Like none of you have never had a bad time with your precious darlings. I'm sure she loves her child very much, it just sounds like she is incredibly stressed. Hows about being a kind human being from time to time and give a kind word? Or is this catfight and best mommy contest central? Does her honesty make you jealous or something? I know I am a smartass from time to time up here, but I do have a heart, and I can tell when someone is really needing a few kind words. I agree the asker should seek some releif in real life, but it would not hurt anyone to give her some good, friendly advice either.

I think she just needs someone to talk to. That is all. No pearls of wisdom, no nastiness either.

I didn't answer that question either, but I did go and read the responses that you're talking about. It seems to me that this is a typical set of answers. For some reason, people here (I'm guessing a lot of children here, actually) love to leave remarks that are rude and shocking. I suppose it's just a way for these kids to feel like they're tough or something because you know damn well that they'd never talk to someone in person like that. They've got the internet between them and the asker. They're immature and bored.

I like how you called it a "Henhouse" - that's pretty much what it is....

You are right but you know yourself there are a lot of smart@$$es on Y!A and if she really needs help she should search somewhere closer to home. Also, I did not answer her question at all because I just couldn't decide whether she was for real or not.
I also remember a few similar question like this that were asked about 3 months ago and the kind and helpful suggestions and answers went unappreciated and were very much criticized.
I'm wondering, instead of posting this rant, why don't you lend her your experience and help her through a tough spot since you were there yourself?

I don't see YOU offering her any "kind words."

And you aren't a smartass from time to time--mostly you're a nasty, hateful ***** ALL the time.

I will say, however, that this post of yours isn't nearly as awful as some of them. Did they switch your meds or something? I still say Haldol would work wonders for you. :)

One more thing--I think you missed this: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AhWG.4wBgG4qklJMqsI1mLHzy6IX?qid=20060912095632AAwFU2J

She said she's considering "murder." Regardless of whether she's being sarcastic or attempting humor, one should never use the term murder when referring to an infant. That's just psychotic.

Because most people operate from the ego mind rather than the heart. We live in a society of wolves and then people have the temerity to wonder why the world is so vicious and violent. Perhaps the world would change if each and everyone us showed a little more love and compassion to our fellow human beings.

I would have to agree with you that she shouldn't have been hen pecked. My eldest was a crier (literally 24 / 7) and never did sleep through the night until she was 2. By the time she did, I was sad to find out I was yet again pregnant. Thank god child # 2 slept non-stop for the first 6 years of her life. lol.

I don't agree with whome ever said people would have responded differently had she worded the question better.. It doesn't matter had she said "my baby won't stop crying, what do I do"... 80 % of the women answering would have said something ugly like "babies cry, why did you have one if you can't handle it".. Also to people responding that she said something about murdering her baby.. that was several posts after this question was asked. So that has nothing to do with it.
I say good for her for asking. Babies aren't cute all of the time. They are annoying quite often.. My son gets on my nerves at least 5 times a day.. it doesn't mean I love him any less.. It doesn't mean I am not taking care of him..
And I am also sure that most of the mothers who passed judgement on her for her question and gave a idiot answer probably feel annoyed by their babies every once in a while too.. They are just to chicken $hit to say so.. Someone may look down on them and think they are all horrible mothers for being annoyed by a precious babies constant yapping.
This section of Y!A answers has become a joke... These women are nolonger willing to give ligit answers... They prefer questions like "I'm 14 and had sex, do you think I'm pregnant?".. or "Is it wrong of me to not breastfeed?".. These questions are simple for them.. they don't have to give actual answers but instead just pass judgement on good moms trying to get valid advice...

jellybean, click on her id and look at her other questions which are "somewhat" the same, but in them she also states "I am considering murder". Do we need to coddle someone who states they are considering murder? She needs to get off the internet and go take care of that precious baby or give it to someone who can. Read her other questions which include the "murdering" part. It scares people when they see things like that written.

Actually, I think that she received too many kind words, most of them avoiding the issue. What this young lady needs to do is get her tail to a counselor, therapist, psychiatrist, whatever, to learn how to overcome her inability to cope with normal infant behaviour before she succumbs to her thoughts of murder! By the way, I didn't see any answer from you there.

I didn't comment on that question, but I think perhaps the question came across like "I'm annoyed that my baby is squealing with delight, what can I do to shut her up?" I think most people would have been more sympathetic with "my baby won't stop crying, I don't know what to do."

Maybe because she is a fake and has asked the same question 25 times in an hour?
