not only diaper rash, but UTI's.
For breakfast I would buy the pancake mini's (frozen), nook them and cut them up into small bite size pieces. I did the same thing with french toast sticks - I soaked Cheerio's in warm water and placed them on the tray.
Lunch - PB&J, Grilled Cheese, Mac and cheese, buttered noodles, soups, spaghetti o's, ravioli's, yogurt, fruits (soft fruits)
Dinner - we usually just fed our daughter what we ate, but softer foods. She really wasn't into meats until she was about 2 years old.
Seriously though, I can't remember what a 5 month old should be eating..it's been a long time.

Be careful with the tomatoes! The acidity can cause a diaper rash in such a young baby. Don't over do it.
At 5 mos old, solids are mostly for fun and practice, not so much for nutrition. Breastmilk and/or formula should remain her main source of nutrition for the entire first year.
Good first foods that babies usually like include bananas, avocados and sweet potatoes. I made my own instead of buying them....much fresher and better for baby and you know exactly what went into it.

I agree about being careful with the acidity level but if your daughter doesn't seem to be affected by it then great! My daughter LOVES peas those are her favorite food. Other foods she enjoys are split peas, black beans, broccoli, cauliflower, squash, avocado, brussel sprouts (believe it or not) and every fruit imaginable. Keep pushing the other foods it may take a few trys. If I offer my daughter peas first she won't eat anything else afterwards. A great website is www.babycenter.com it will answer all questions about various foods and will give you great ideas.

My son is into Tomato juice. I put it in a pitcher in the fridge and then water down a little cause it's so thick! he loves it he'll drink it all day, The dr says it's really good for him and has licopene, a substance that can prevent heart disease and some cancers! whoo hoo, also try tuna with the tomatoes, my bot loves a tuna salad on peices of tomato its really good. another good one is Tomatoes with cottage cheese hell eat that one all day too! Its good that your baby likes tomatoes!

Weaning is such an exciting time - it's great to see how they react to all those new tastes - especially when they've had a diet of milk for so long! Favourites tend to be those foods that are naturally sweet. Puree sweet potato is a good one to try. Apple and pear is also a firm fav. Apparently my baby fav food was banana mashed with anything (litteraly anything and everything - as long as banana was mashed with it I'd yum it up!)

try mixing the other foods with the tomatoes. it may be the flavor she likes. by mixing the two she may be more encourage to eat other foods. also at this age don't take a one time dislike as not liking a food it may take up to 6-9 tries to get them to really like a food :)

She has to like something besides tomatoes. It seems like too many wouldn't be good on her belly. The acid will eventually get to her. What about bananas, watermelon, cantaloupe, kiwi? There are lots of things she could eat. I have five kids and they all ate differently. Most of my kids love cheese, fruits, veggies, yogurt, bread, rice, etc. They are not fussy eaters.

My kids never liked jarred baby food either. Just make your own....whatever you eat, put in a blender or food processor and offer it to her. My kids #1 veggie was sweet potatoes. Just bake them and mash them!
Just be careful to avoid highly allergic foods and spices. (including eggs, dairy, nuts) Tomatoes are in the category of highly allergic...so if you start to see any rashes cut them down. Also, even if you don't see signs now, it could contribute to her developing eczema. I'm sure someone on here will argue with me on that one, but I've seen it happen..so just be careful
