My daughter is 4 1/2 months old and sleeps in her swing at night. The swing is not on, it would be like her sleeping in her carseat. If I put her in her crib she wakes up crying several times all night long. When I let her sleep in her swing, she will sleep all night. She was diagnosed with reflux, so I think possibly she is more comfortable in the more upright position. I have even tried a wedge in her crib and she still won't sleep all night. Has anyone else had this same problem? Will I have problems getting her to sleep in her crib when she's too big for her swing?

My 10 month old has just recovered from a bad bout of the stomach flu. He's better and well-hydrated, but I really want him to get used to drinking water to stay hydrated (yes, he had pedialyte while he was sick but only if we squirted it in his mouth...he didn't like it either). He just isn't interested in water. We've tried adding a little fruit juice. No dice. Any other strategies? Should I just let it go? He eats lots of fruit so I know he gets water that way. He drinks formula pretty much exclusively (he eats LOTS of solid foods).

My son has been sick for 3 weeks with diarrhea and he is almost refusing to eat. I have changed his formula to soy, I give him toast and thicken his baby food with rice cereal, but nothing seems to help. At 6 months he weighted 16 lbs and now at 9 months and 1 week he weights in at 16 lbs 5 oz and 28 inches. This cannot be healthy. Please help!!

My nephew has the stomach virus so the doctor told us to give him pedialyte, but he won't drink it. He'll scream and cry untill he gets his formula. We do not want him to be dehydrated because he spits up the formula. What could we do to keep the baby hydrated?

I have been feeding my daughter the little yobabies since she was 5 months, also I give her cheerios in milk, only to soften the cheerios so she does not actually drink the milk. She is now 7 months and has her first cold, so was wondering if she is not supposed to take the dairy products, I still breasfeed her and she HATES formula ( who can blame her),
Please put a worried mothers mind at ease

I recently met a single 23 yr old mother who was working to provide for her son. She told me horror stories of her parents, friends and co-workers looking down upon her just for deciding to keep her son. I was so touched by her sacrafice that i wrote her a poem letting her know that her situation did not go un noticed and that in my eyes i had nothing but respect for her. I can closly relate as my mother raised me on her own as well for the better half of my childhood years. What i want to know, is why are young single mothers looked down on so much in our society, when in reality i believe they deserve the upmost respect. (Keep in mind i am not speaking on those mothers who abandon their responsibility or do not handle it with the care and devotion that they should). Any thoughts?

hi thanks for taking the time to answer my question. the thing is i have NOT attempted this method yet. my daughter is 8 1/2months old .my first child . and i pick her up when she crys and dont want to put her in her crib to cry her self to sleeplike a lot of first time moms proibily do. i have tryed to do every thing by the book . and it says when they are very younger that the cry it out method is rong because there too young to understand .. so now that shes a bit older she is use to my picking her up when she wants me. and wont fall asleep unlessin my arms .but my husband and my mom are telling me i need to put her in her crib and even if it takes 2 hours of screaming to leave her untill she falls asleep. and dont pick her up every time she crys.now initially your not to use the method because it's causes insecurity. so now that shes secure in that fact that i'm there for her . wont it just reverce it all . if all of a sudden i stop picking her up

props their babies bottle? If you do, what are your reasons why you do? Is it only every once in a while? I prop my son's bottle occasionally.
