My daughter was born 7 lbs 9 ozs, by the time she was 5 days old she was drinking 3 1/3 ozs every 3-4 hours. By the time she was 2 months old she was already 14 lbs. The doctor said I should be happy that she's a good eater... Just keep in mind there will be days your baby may barely eat. Your baby should be eating 3-4 ozs every 4 hours at that age.. looks like he's right on track! congrats!!!

That sounds right. At that age they can eat anywhere between 2-5 ounces.

When I brought my daughter home, she was eating about the same as your son. She weighed 8lbs. 9 oz. and when she hit the 3 week mark, she increased to 4 oz. My doctor said that around 2 - 3 weeks they tend to increase in appetite and that it is normal and a good sign that they are progressing well. I hope that helps.

All of my boys were downing 5 oz. bottles every 2 hours when they came home from the hospital. As long as he isn't throwing it all back up, he is fine! Be happy he only eats every 4 hours!!!!! Mine were every 1-2!

as a nutritionist I will tell you babys cannot eat too much they work on a hunger drive, they eat if they are hungry and stop when they are full. as long as you are breast feeding or mixing the formula correctly (and not giving any solids before his digestive system begins to mature at 6mos) it is impossable for an infant to over eat

When you come home from the hospital they tell you to feed your baby x amount of food every x amount of hours. The truth of the matter is when your baby is hungry it's hungry, once you get home your baby will be able to dictate when he is hungry and exactly how hungry he actually is.Besides when baby get seen at the Doctors office they would tell you if your baby was becoming overweight or already overweight.
