Adoption

I have a biological daughter that I love more then anything in the world. I can't imagine ever loving anything or anyone more except another child. If I were to adopt a child is it the same feeling of love or does it feel more like how you love another family member or close friend? I'm looking for serious answers from personal experience of having both biological and adopted children. Thanks!

The father is smart, the mother is pretty. No drugs/no diseases.

Serious inquiries only

This is actually a question about how we as society deny realism. I am not having a baby, I'm a single guy, so here is my thesis.

In my humble opinion, the "differences" which lead couple #1 to adopt the scarce baby (who we will call exhibit--A) when couple #1, couple #2 and couple #3 all were seeking the scarce resource.

I am basically clueing in the world that "economics" is the invisible force which enforces glass-ceilings, which enforces racism, and enforces "investor stupidity"--I'm a finance guru--would love to write 30 pages on this subject, and I defecate and vomit every time that I hear of people not realizing that stocks are only a better investment than safer assets, based on nominal data.

The truth is that, yes, overall if you have $100 you can invest in stocks or bonds or real-estate or REIT's or FOREX or other 4-letter words. Please share your thoughts logically?!

I have chosen a close acquaintance to adopt my baby. I know she will be able to provide the kind of life for this child that I know I cannot at this time.

I am the mother of a two year old and I am 9 weeks into this pregnancy.

So, what do I do now? What challenges am I sure to face?

Her biggest fear is that I will change my mind, like many people do. What can I do to reassure her? Should I wait a while before bringing it up again or should I just state firmly that this is what I have decided and I am sure?

My husband and i are pregnant with twins, we don't know the genders. My husband likes traditional, biblical names [he is a pastor] and i like more unique, new-age names. We are having trouble agreeing on names.
p.s. we dont like "twin" names [names that sound alike]

China, long known for it's rigorous adoption requirements, has now imposed a BMI standard so that you can't be fat and adopt a child.

Can anyone argue as to why that's a good idea? It seems to me that being raised by overweight parents would be better than being raised in an orphanage, but maybe I'm missing something. Thoughts?

I don't think it's a good idea, but my sister, the adoptive insists on make friend with the birth mom, would the child be confused on who's his mother? I mean it remind me of that story in Bible, Moses's nanny is his birth mom,.. would that actually work out in real life?

I'm super stuck, I know its morally wrong to kill an unborn child. BUT on the other hand I have NO TIME to deal with being pregnant!! I know this is super selfish, I need some honest and NICE opinions. Please not harsh "Your a baby killer" comments.

I am single and sruggling to make ends meet for my family. I don't know what is best for my family as of right now. Can I really afford to add another child to this broken home?

How dare all of you judge her that way?Have you guys personally adopted or even dealt with a kid from the system? Yes there are some that just wanna be loved but most are just home wreckers no matter what you do for them. The state lies to you and paints a very pretty picture and when you sign, they turn their backs on you and act like they have never known you. They want to get rid of them just as badly.Lots of you referred to her as a bad parent....theres only so much even the best parent in the world can do!Whats so hard to understand that these kids just dont care??Its their way or no way and when you stand your ground, they flip! All the parenting classes in the world cant help you with certain situations! As far as that stupid question lots of you asked her, what are you gonna do with your own kids when they misbehave, send them back?...No stupid people, she brought them into this world and she MUST deal with it. She did NOT give birth to these other foster kids so she doesnt HAVE to

My niece has had a large party for her 4yr old every year to celebrate the day she was adopted and calls it her " heart day." This year the 4yr old acted funny about it and my niece was wondering if she is feeling too singled out. She has a new 6mo. old brother from mommys tummy and asked if he would have a heart day. The question is , does this show a seperation that could make a difference in the way both children will feel?

My friends and I are both interested in adoption (someday far away). Some of my friends say they think its wrong to adopt internationally when we have kids here who don't have homes. I on the other hand want to adopt internationally because while I feel bad for the children here, our government makes sure the American orphans have medical care and food and schooling. While kids in countries like Ethiopia and Liberia are barely hanging on because they're dying from starvation or deadly diseases. So I feel while it's hard for American children to grow up in the orphanages, at least they have a chance at life. Whereas children in other countries don't always have that.

Anyone agree/disagree?
