International adoption, no matter what country, costs between 7,000 and 30,000$ depending on what agency you choose to go with.

Why look to Central or South America? There are plenty of children in this country who need the same things.

i was adopted from brazil when i was six weeks old and it was 37,000 and that was in 1989. also you have to get a translater to stay with you on your trip and find a place to stay and sometimes you have to stay there for a week or so until you can take the child home.
