And she said she didn't want any money or anything if we did it privately just a happy nice family for the baby. So all I would have to do is get a lawyer to sign the rights of the baby over to me when it is born correct??

Thanks everyone

Hi there. This question is for my mother. A few days ago she posted a question under myself asking for help with a problem adoption. I could NOT beleive the responses she got & how so many viewed her negatively.

My parents adopted a young boy a few years ago. We all accepted this beautiful little red-headed child as part of our family. My parents spoiled him... He was in trouble in school a bit nothing major. One day my mom and dads world fell apart. They received a call from my cousin saying my brother molested her son and he finally talked to her about this. At this moment my brother was at boy scout camp. He was sent away immediatly. Only to tell counsolers he moslested 11 other victims while living at my parents home. One was my 2 month old son.

They tried to have the adoption over turned with no success. It looks like they stand to lose everything they own. There are $150,000+ costs aleady for care. His sexual issues were never addressed to them before the adoption. Help?!

I am getting married to this woman who has a daughter. I have discussed adoption to her and she accepts it. But mentioned to her ex-husband, he clearly states "NO." He has not seen her in 3 years nor called. But ever since i have mentioned it to him, he calls and now comes by to see her.

As a rule, female employees get 3 months maternity leave to take care of the newborn baby. Is that rule applicable to a female employee, who is adopting an infant. Is theree any specific rule/law in that respect?

we have 3 children in foster care already (we can't have our own) and we want to adopt them. we have a 3 bedroom house (my husband and I in one room, Nic and Tony in a room, and Krista in the third). we've wanted 5 kids since we were married, but with our small house, we're going to have to settle for a smaller family. the 3 kids we have now (ages 11, 10, and 7) get along great together and even though Tony doesn't look like the rest of us, you would never know otherwise. Krista (our oldest) has told me that she would be willing to share her room with a younger sister (the kids talk about having a little sister like she's already here), but even though we have the room, money, time, and love for another child, would it be foolish to contact the agency to tell them this even though we haven't officially adopted the older 3 yet? thanks for any advice concerning this.

my mother currently fosters my god sisters three children and we are about to go through the courts for adoption. she lost her children due to negligence, abandonment and drug use and she still hasnt shown any improvement. she is twenty five years old and she just had another baby yesterday. she knows she is unfit but wants to keep the baby for money. She says that if she is not able to keep the baby custody will be handed over to the supposed baby's father whose she is residing with now. he is an illegal alien. if she is unfit to raise her other children will she still be able to keep this child and if not will they give custody to the father who she is residing with. please help me ive seen the abuse that her other children suffered and i dint want this baby to suffer. my mom wants to take the baby in with his other siblings is this possible.

I am due to have a baby soon and her father is saying that I'm a horrible selfish person and that I'm a quitter because I don't feel like I can afford her or take care of her. He says that I should've gotten an abortion or not have had sex at all. Why does it get pinned all on the women? I feel like I'm doing the best for my child.

Do you think it is better to wait and have baby shower, buy clothing etc until you have brought the baby home since the birth mother has so many hours after delivery to change her mind?

I really want to have an international adoption. The more I research about it though, the more expensive it sounds. 25,000 not including all travel fare! Wow! Don't get me wrong, I'm financially stable enough to raise a kid. It would never go without anything. I'm just wondering if there are any non-profit organizations of some sort that offer to help with this kind of situation. I preferably wish to adopt from an Asian country such as China, Japan, Korea, so forth. Can anyone recommend some good agencies there? Guatamala is also in our list though. Thank you!

i have 8 children and 3 of them i voluntary gave my rights to this woman cause at that time i wasn't able to care for them, and my three other sons they with someone else and she has guardianship over them but i still have contact with them and do a lot fun things with them.my oldest son is his own an i have a 4 year son living me. my daughter is pregnant and she is 18 years old now an she left her adoptive home cause she got tired of the things that were going on in the home, like the adoptive mom 30 year old son hitting her in the face and had red blood clots in her eye, so she left home and was living from place to place to keep from going back to the adoptive home. so she contacted me and i took her in my home so was i wrong cause i love my children and i refuse tolet her be on the streets and pregnant so me and adoptive mom is going to blows with eachother over this and now i believe it's just the money. and she wants her to come home and my daughter refuse to go home.

I've known from a very young age that I wanted to be childfree since I'm very intolerant of children and feel like having one of my own would ruin my life.I've always been a dog lover and don't think there's a living creature on this earth more deserving of love, affection and attention.I'm 29,have been married for 3 years and together my husband and I have adopted 3 dogs as well as having one each from before the marriage.Adopting these little angels has been the best decision I've ever made. Why are so many people desperate for something that will do nothing ruin your appearance, your social life, your finances and take away your freedom when you can adopt a dog who will love you for life for a hell of a lot less than a child requires. Before anyone tells me I have no idea what I'm talking about since I never had a child,I did have a son at 21 whom I gave up for adoption and never looked back. What is wrong with people today?

I have raised my daughter since the age of 4 when I met my husband, I officially adopted her at age 8, her birth mother has had no contact with her since she was 5. Last year her birth mother showed up at her school. Recently I found out that they have been communicating via my space, texting, phone calls and have met several times in person all without mine or my husbands knowledge. Normally at this age (my daughter will be 16 in 3 weeks) I would think that it would be okay to have some supervised initial contact with a birth parent if everyone involved agrees, the law does however state that birth parents may NOT contact an adopted child and vice versa until the child is 21. That being said my daughter's birth mother has a long history of mental illness, she has made attempts on her own life, my husbands and has made numerous threats on my life. I'm sick with fear of this woman and her unstable nature. How can I convince a 15 year old to end contact until she is more equipped?

I found out i had a kid. He is 4 years old. I have never met him, etc. But i am paying child support.

The mother of the child is married, and wanted her husband to adopt the child. I agreed. Plus, i wouldnt have to pay any more child support.

The adoption was finalized a few months ago. I called her lawyer, and they asid teh adoption has already been finalized. However, i am still paying Child Support, because the motehr of the child never told the Child Support Division that her husband has now adopted teh child.

I tried to call the Child Support Division and tell them that her husband adopted. They said they only way they can stop the child support charges each month is if she brings them a copy of teh adoption. But, she hasnt done that yet. I am being charged for something that should have stopped months ago, she has failed to tell them the truth.

I havent even been sent a copy of the adoption papers yet. Her lawyer said that she was supposed to send a copy, i never it

I am 10 weeks pregnant with my second child. I chose to procede with this pregnancy rather than abort, but now I don't know what to do.
Right now I am very unsure of myself as far as being able to provide the kind of lifestyle I wish for any more children. I feel I'm a good mom to my two year old daughter, but fear with another child I will be restricting not only her opportunities in life, but also for the one to come. I plan to go to college to increase my chances of earning a higher income, but I feel with a new baby I will not have the patience and put it off even longer.

I tossed the idea of adoption around in my head for several weeks, with the person in mind who I'd like to adopt this child. She cannot personally have children so she gladly accepted when I asked (of course with some apprehension).

When I asked her if she'd adopt this baby I was so sure that it was the best thing to do for everyone involved, but now I'm scared out of my mind. I don't want anyone to

I want to know how I can end birthparents getting scammed?
I was forced to give my son up for adoption 11 years ago. Everyone says the adoption movement has changed and modern adoption no longer includes the birthparents being treated like trash (like in the 50's with unwed mother's homes). But, it is a complete lie. I was treated horribly by everyone involved (my family, adoption agency, courts, hospital, adoptive parents).
I was basically a child giving up a child and I was never informed of MY rights until it was way too late. I was threatened by my family to give my son up and the adoption agency sugar coated lies of open adoption (which can never be legally binding anyways).
I was never informed or counseled by anyone outside the adoption agency...all they saw was the money.
Since then I have met many women (mostly young confused mothers) who have been swindled out of their children. What are some things I can do to try and change this for future birthparents?
Thanks!
