i just recently moved from California to Virginia. i'm very dedicated in school and that's the main reason i want to go back. i feel it could help my future, considering i don't have a home life that i'm comfortable with anyway. i don't get along with my father, and my mother puts way too much stress on me. i'm mainly involved in JROTC and have already been told i would have been the commander. i feel like i left my future behind me, and want to know how i could be adopted.

You must be at least 16 to 18 years old. Trust me few families have the perfect family.
I am old enough to be your Grandmother and as the months a years go by and you become an adult, you will have a totally new perspective on your parents.
I grew up hating my Father, back then they did not talk to you but whipped with a belt. I married at 17 to get out of the house. My Mother was always my best friend, but Mothers cannot control their partners. People are who they are.
Even when my Father was dying I could not summon the strength to take care of him in my home, but put him in a nursing home. He was dead in three months. I now regret not giving him the choice of dying at home.
Your parents are probably working hard to support the family and see that you have the things you need. Just be patient,to ask your parents to allow you to be adopted would be the deepest cut any parent could every receive from a child.
Once you are an adult, your understanding of what it is like to be an adult with major responsibilities will be much clearer.
Your Parents only wish the very best for you I am sure. Please be patient.
God bless and I wish you the very best in life.

Your parents could let this person become your legal guardian. I'm sorry I'm not too sure. I just wanted to say that you sound like you are a very dedicated young lady and student. Good job. I hope you keep it up... Don't get all mixed up with boys, alcohol, drugs, etc. Keep your eye on the goal---education. :)

You would need to have the family who wants to adopt you and/or your parents contact an attorney to start the process.

If your parents are OK with you being adopted then I would talk to the people you would like to adopt you, you would probably have to hire an attorney that deals with adoption..

I don't think you need to go as drastic as adoption... just legal custody. Your parents would have to sign their parental rights over to them. Then they would be your legal guardian.

it is best handled by a lawyer as it will need to be handled by the courts. Find a family lawyer and he/she can file all the papers.
