i was 38 weeks this past saturday & have only been checked 1 time, last tuesday (37 weeks)...but dr just gave the strep b test and said her head was in my cervix. i went to the dr this tues but he didn't check me. when does he check for dilation of my cervix? i thought they checked at 38 weeks? my sister just had a baby a week and a half ago and said they checked her from 37 weeks on...

My 5mth old has always been a 'chucker'. She throws up virtually all day and yesterday I counted 23 times. She doesnt cry about it but occassionally she will have an irregular breathing pattern and it sounds like air being forced through a tunnell. like a whistle sound. Im convinced this is linked with the spewing as she will chuck not long after. Does anyone else have these probs. Ive booked in with a peadiatrician but would like to know if anyone else out there has a similar situation.

Just found out I'M PREGNANT. I asked a question on here not to long ago because I was late on my period and now it turns out i'm pregnant I'm excited. I have my 1st appointment this Friday. Is it SCARY? What should I do/expect? Experienced answers only please. Its my first baby and i'm 20 years old. Is that to early to have a baby? We wanted to wait but it just sorta happend and I dont regret any second of it. It's AMAZING.

So i'm 35 weeks and 1 day along with my first baby and the doctor said that i'm already 70% effaced. He said that i probably won't make it to my due date but he was kind of evasive...probably didn't want to worry me or something. So out of your guyses experiences, how normal is this and what exactly does it mean? i'm just wondering if i could still go 4 more weeks or if i'll probably have her like next week or what??? I don't think i'm dialated at all yet...

I am not trying to conceive at this time but that may be changing within the next year or two and I have a question...

If you're a female with a relatively short cycle (say 23 or 24 days instead of 28), does this mean you are more fertile than a woman with a longer cycle (more likely to get pregnant) or less fertile or is there even a difference? If your cycle is shorter, does that generally mean you have fewer fertile days to work with in a given cycle?

I was just wondering. Usually my cycle is between 26 and 28 days but sometimes it is only 23 or 24 days. I don't remember it being this way when I was younger but it's been this way the last few years, off and on (I'm 31 now).

Just wondering if the shorter cycles means I'm more fertile now than I used to be or less.

when keeping track of my temp. can I just use a $4.99 thermometer from target? because I have been reading about it and it said to use a basal body thermometer. Does it really matter which one I use? I'm overweight but we are trying to get pregnant. While trying I want to watch what I eat and exercise to try to lose some weight. Some coworkers are drinking Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar to lose weight and they say it helps. What I need to know if anyone has taken it to lose weight and if it really works? I have a very active eighteen-month old and a very tall three-and-a-half year old. Until recently, I've been able to pack them up into our double stroller and head out for a walk. Lately, it's been a nightmare! They both fuss and fight the WHOLE time we're out - the younger can't stand being restrained and the elder complains about not having enough room.

I have been dating my boyfriend for a yr. now. He has an 8yr. old son who I absolutely adore. His son seems to be a little slow for his age. His obsession for food is getting out of control and is gaining alot of weight. The only thing he wants to do is watch scary movies and play video games. But, the most thing I am concerned of is this motion that he does with his hands when he seems to get overly excitied. He will take both of his hands and rub and twist them together real fast. This will only last for about 5 secs. but he will do this all the time. Can anybody please tell me if this is a disorder and can he be helped from it?

i was just wondering how many parents will still be giving the kids cold medicine with all the news downing it. i have a 2 year old who just started getting cold symptoms today and im scared to give him anything to help him breathe. i have used dimatapp in the past, and at the right dosage that the doctor told me to use and it helps him to sleep during his naps and at night. he cant breathe well when he has a cold and so he doesnt sleep well without it. but at the same time im scared to give it to him! what do yall think?? would you still use it even if you havent had any problems in the past???

My husband and I just got our foster license a month ago. Since then we have been waiting for a placement. I quit my job to stay home with the child and we are excited to be used by God to love on a child for as long as they need. We finally got a call yesturday for a sibling set of 2 girls, and told to get ready they would be placed today sometime. We were called today to be told the girls would be placed with family friends who are licensed. Which i am so glad for the girls as i know they are going through alot now but my husband and I feel like this is taking forever. How long was it before you had a placement......any advice....Thanks
