Of course its not to early. If you are ready and willing to take responsibility for your child and love them, then great!
My hubby and I had our first when we were 19, and are now expecting our second at 22.
Your appointment shouldnt be scary at all. My first appointment was nothing but answering questions and doing paperwork. The next appointment was the one where things actually happened. You'll have to answer a lot about your family health history and such. When you actually see the doc, it should just be routine stuff like an exam, pee in a cup, take ur blood pressure, check your breasts, etc. Just relax. Write down any questions that you have, and bring them with you. You'll likely have to do a lot of paperwork too. At some point you'll have to get blood work done, and if you are a negative blood type, you will have to get a special shot. Nothing major. Ask them what to expect at your next appointment. Later in pregnancy, you can expect a test for diabetes (they make you drink some really sweet stuff), and a test for group B strep (where they quickly swab your vagina and anus). You'll also get an ultrasound, but probably not until later.
Congrats! It IS amazing!

First of all Congratulations! For the first visit you can expect to give a urine sample to confirm pregnancy and test for any potential problems. They will also do a pap smear and possibly draw blood. You will be weighed and your height will be measured. And the doctor will need to know when your last period was so they can estimate the baby's due date. They will also need to know if you've been experiencing any bleeding or abdominal pain and your past medical history so expect to answer a lot of questions. The doctor will also ask about your eating and exercising habits and family history etc.
Also bring along any questions that you have so that you can get the answers from them. They may give you prenatal vitamins and other samples of baby products. Don't worry about it...it's not a scary visit. The most important thing is to discuss any questions that you may have so that you aren't worrying about them later.
And as far as thinking that it's too early to have a baby...I'm 26 years old and 7 months pregnant and I thought the same thing. It's normal to have those fears but a baby is a blessing. You should also get a book on pregnancy so that you can know what to expect..."What to Expect When You're Expecting" has answered a lot of questions for me and prepared me for what's to come. You can also join babycenter.com or babyzone.com and join groups of expecting mothers who can answer a lot of questions that you may have.
Congratulations Again! I wish you the best of luck and a happy and healthy pregnancy and baby :)

Not scary. Im 19 and having my first. The first appt for me was just a pap and urine test so they can check for any infections or stds that could hurt the baby and feel ur uterous to make sure its growing. The younger you are the less likely it is that the baby will have any complications. You should get an ultrsound on your second appt and you will think its even more amazing when you see it jumping around in your belly. Dont be worried. Its great. Congrats

if u don't regret it, don't question it. as long as u r ready financially and emotionally, there is nothing wrong with it.
CONGRATULATIONS!!
here's what u should expect during ur first visit.
u will have to fill out paper works, some forms and some releases etc..
they will ask u to remove all the cloths and give u a gown, nurse will check ur bp, and ask u to give a urine sample which she will test for protein and let u know the results right away, she will also take ur wt. a dr will examine ur breasts for any nodes or lumps., they will also examine ur pelvic exam.and take some swabs for pep smear(if u hadn't had any done in a year), gonorrhoea and other stds. its not painful so don't worry.
u will have to take some blood tests at the lab for hiv, hepatitis and ur prenatal check up like beta hcg levels.
dr will ask u about ur last period and then find out ur due date.
depending upon how far along u r and how ur dr practices , they might give a transvaginal ultrasound and u might see a heartbeat.
thats about it.

during your first visit they do basic test they will ask you to give a urine sample, Blood (maybe), At my first they did a pelvic exam and they take your weight. The basic question is when was the first day of your last period, but i had no idea and they'll figure it out. You might want to ask for prenatal vitamins, you can get non-perscription but im all about having the very best. just drink some water so you'll go potty on command. I also think now is a good time to apply for all the free stuff you can get. sign up for enfamil family beginning. Congrads and good luck

CONGRATULATIONS. I had first baby at 19 and i was just as excited as you are now. Don't expect to much from first appointment they will feel tummy see how big uterus is and basic stuff. The most exciting part will be hearing the heart beat for the first time. It will be faint but that is normal. The baby is only tiny. Let us know when you have your first scan! that was truly amazing. And when the baby kicks for the first time. I could go on forever. It is the most amazing experience and i loved being pregnant. My first used to stick her foot out and i would tickle it and she would quickly pull it back in and we would do that for about 10mins. Truly touching. Don't be scared at your appointment. You are making sure your baby is fine. You will hear it for the first time.
Getting clucky just talking about it.

It's not scary. The first appointment will just be for you and the doc/midwife/whatever to take down some particulars, do a quick check up and figure out about how far along you. Nothin' scary. None if it ever is. :) Congrats!

Yeah!!! congrats!!!! 20 is not too young, you will have tons of energy for your little one! the first visit is awesome, it kinda confirms everything. They go over a lot of medical history and check you out, make sure to write down any questions you have for your doc so you dont forget when you get there, and no questions are stupid, so dont be afraid to ask anything!
I had my first at 22 and it wasnt planned either, she was the best thing that ever happened to me. Now i have a boy too and we are TTC#3!
Good Luck to you!

Just make sure to write down allllllll your questions because once you get there you are going to forget. Don't think of any question being silly, I ask my doc everything! I'm a first timer too and so in my first appointment I asked everything from food do's and don'ts to hair coloring.
And no you are not too young. Good luck and take good care of yourself.

They will take all your info/questions, blood pressure, weight, make you urinate in a cup, give you a due date, possible feel inside you for your uterus like a regular exam. They will also or most will set you up with an ultrasound appointment. it is not scary, just basically all the paper work and getting set up on prenatal and such. congrats and you will be fine.
