Has anyone else experienced this?
Most parents I come across show an immense interest in the lives of their kids, from what they're studying in school, to where they're working, who they're dating, etc.
My parents seem to show absolutely no interest in our lives. It was as though they were completely oblivious to the fact that, surprise surprise, kids grow up, and we won't always just want to play catch in the backyard.
It goes further than that though. They're downright dead-weights. My brother is marrying into an Italian family next year, and the first thing out of my mother's mouth was a complaint about the location -- barely any congratulations!
Anyone else struggle with parents who seem inconvenienced to have children? Both of them make great money. Additionally, they haven't put any money aside for our weddings, educations, etc.
I'm independent and can manage on my own two feet, but it's simply about the fact that they don't seem to really care. It's a HASSLE for them.

My newborn of 2 weeks and 2 days gets the hiccups often. I feel so bad for the little guy because he gets all wound up (very excited) during nursing sessions. Does anyone know what these hiccups could be caused from? How can I help him get rid of them or lessen them? He gets so upset. I feel so bad. :(

I mean my husband works a lot (i have a full time job and make more than him) his day off is a random tue or wed. I have my daughter every night and on the weekends. He will go out with his friends and get a chance to unwind while I'm pulling my hair out with our toddler. I dont get a chance to unwind myself ever. Even on his days off I take her to daycare because he wants to catch up on his sleep. How fair is that?

Hi everyone.
Today I'm 24 wks & 6 days pregnant with my first baby. I've been feeling him move now like all the time. I love it! When will the kicks get really hard to where it gets painful? How many weeks will I be? Also I started seeing/feeling him kick above my belly button now. Is this normal? Thank you for answering!

I think that my baby is in a tranverse postion, I am 34 weeks and 4 days and I know at this time the baby should be in a head down position. If I tell the doctor about my concern, will they order an ultrasound or palpate my stomach, or will they jus knock it off? and if my baby is transverse this late does that mean a scheduled ultrasound, or what?

So ladies, so, i am not so bloated anymore, and sometimes, I feel as though I'm not prego.

This worries me. My nausea stopped and I am not so bloated like I was in the first tri-mester?

Is this normal. Everything was fine at my last doc appt. and I heard the strong heartbeat.

I was just wondering is it normal once you start getting energy back and feeling better, to worry, and feel kinda like your not pregnant?

She is rediculus and says we shouldnt have anymore kids because the times are so bad, we can't afford it, etc. She hung up on my husband when he called her and told her we were expecting our second child, I can't fathom this conversation with it being our fourth! We couldnt be happier and I hate that shes so rediculous about it. she doesnt even treat my other children like she does my first.

So anyway I need an invintive way to spring this on her. Got any ideas?

give consequences that relate to the bad behavior ? For example; A child grabs a toy from another child even if you have taught the child to use his words. A dirct consequece to the unwanted behavior should be telling the child to leave the area.

VS

Punishing a child or making him hurt wheather it be taking away toys or TV.

Which of these teaches the child to take responsibility for their own actions?

Ok so my bf stopped having sex with me when i was 3 months pregnant and we talked about it and he said it just made him uncomfortable because he felt he was hurting the baby and he new certain positions were just a no so he just tried to not think about sex, it was weird it bothered me and kind of annoyed me but what ever i just let time go by. then finally last night we had sex but it was weird. it actually hurt and i didnt enjoy it at all. i have my docs appt tomorrow and i will ask her why it hurt. i wonder if it was because i went 4 months without doing anything or if something else is wrong. has anyone else had this happen?

Do you think this 17 year old is too old for her to be dating? I don't want her to go on one on one dates but maybe with a group of friends. I've also told her she is not allowed to ride with him in his car. I've also told her she can have him come over to our house and visit until a reasonable time. What do you think? Give me some of your insights and suggestions (only if you are a parent of a teenager) please.

I plan to breastfeed so I don't want to use any hormonal birth control such as the Pill. I have PCOS so natural planning methods (charting my temps, etc) wouldn't work for someone like me. It actually took injectables and an IUI to conceive this little one, so I don't feel birth control is even needed...but my husband does. We dealt with infertility for years so it feels strange to even be thinking about birth control!

That being said...what are my best options after the baby is born? Thanks!

I just asked a question about discipline, thanks for all the advice. My other question is -- does anyone else have a 15-16-17 month old son who NEVER sits still. My son is ALWAYS very "busy" as his grandma likes to say. He goes from one thing to another to another to another- usually things he is not supposed to be into. I know it's probobly very normal, I just wanted to hear from other moms who are worn to a frazzle chasing their son around keeping him out of things. Also, he is obsessed with the remote, he will scream if I take it from him. Anyone else?

I was just looking for change in mine and I found a pretzel, plastic earrings, pixie stix, a princess toothbrush, and a tony the tiger head. I have found sticks, 'pretty' rocks, dead flowers, ONE shoe, and believe it or not TWICE (unbeknownst to me when it was put in) a FROG (two different kids years apart :))

I just found out I'm pregnant by my boyfriend of 2 years. I'm 24, and I don't know if I'm ready. Am I going to regret this. I feel like I haven't lived my life to the fullest though. I mean I have a pretty good job, my own apartment, nice car. I like to be able to just get up and go. I'm also afraid that this will break up me and my boyfriend, because it does everyone else. This is it, its not about me anymore. I won't be able to go out when I want to. Everybody says my feeling will change once I have the baby. But is that for everybody? I just feel like the rest of my life will be waking up at 4:00 in the morning to get the baby to daycare, get to work at 7:30, pick up the baby fro mthe daycare, and thats it. Somebody be real with me.

I know I experienced hot flashes later on in my last pregnancy. I estimated my ovulation period and we tried to get pregnant around 8 Oct. It's been about two weeks but I also know that it can take up to 5 days to fertalize the egg.

I am 17 weeks 3 days pregnant. I have been doing a few things that are "not reccommended." Has anyone done any of these during pregnancy, and were there any complications with the child? What could potentially happen?

1) Alcohol: On two separate occassions during my second trimester I have had a half glass of fruity wine.

2) Exercise: I workout 30 minutes on the elliptical each night and do approx. 25 minutes of weight lifting (from sitting position to take any pressure off my stomach). Should I bring it down a notch to just walking?

3) At 17 weeks I painted the borders and trimming in my kitchen and bathroom. I opened windows and didn't feel sick at all during the process.
