I dont think I have heard that before, but I have heard that chewing gum can cause bloating because it builds up gas. if you are already bloated and constipated, chewing gum may not make you feel any better.

things that are bad for pregnant women:
smoking
drugs
alcohol
raw or under cooked meat
lunch meat (could contain the bacteria listeria)
soft cheese (same reason as above)

No, it's not unhealthy, but I personally couldn't stand the smell of it while I was pregnant.
