Is it important for a baby to learn to crawl in the typical manner (butt in air), or is it just a means to get around and eventually learn to walk?

i put him on formula from 5 days old because of personal reasons and he has had alot of trouble digesting formula and as been constipated for 2 months. The doctors gave me coloxyl but it didn't help so i went back and he has put him on a easy to digest formula to see if that helps. Anyway i have felt guilty ever since i stopped b/feeding and really regret my decision and want to relactate ever though i only did it for 5 days. He latches on some times but i'm ok with putting it into a bottle once my milk comes in. Has anyone done this and it has worked and how long did it take to see that it was working and how long did it take to fully lactate. I am going holidays in 4 weeks and the drive is 10 hours so i would like to be lactating then as it would make the trip easier. I have a 2 1/2 year old as well so i dont have alot of spare time but i'm willing to give this a go because i know it's best. I'm also taking fenugreek (for the past 4 days).

He said my placenta was stuck to the uterine wall right after I gave birth and he forcefully with all his strength and his arm up to his elbow inside me tore it out. I was soaked in blood and so was everything else, The nurse was even praying for me. I lost alot of blood, the nurse said I should have between 7-8 and I was around a 5, I was so scared, I thought I was going to die and the dr. didn't even act like he cared, he was cold and wouldn't even explain anything to me. His office has been calling my house to schedule surgery of some sort that they have not explained to me. If anyone can please inform me what to do. It has been almost 6 weeks since I gave birth and I still don't feel well.

to give your child two middle names?

2007-08-24 14:16:15 · 37 answers · asked by Anonymous in Baby Names

I currently have 6 children, 5 of which are adopted and one of which is biological and I am pregnant again. Am I being unfair towards my other children for having a big family. They don't seem to mind because they each have one close to their age but I just wonder if I'm being fair or if I'm being selfish. What do you think?

How did others react to your decision? Not strangers, but family, friends, your pediatrician, etc? My daughter is almost 4 months and I plan to breastfeed her past the 12 month mark, and just mentioning it to some people has led to some awkward moments. Hubby has come around to the idea, but some other people I have mentioned it to acted like I'm crazy. My aunt (who is a nurse, for goodness' sake!) got very weird when it came up, and was very firm on the fact that she thinks I should stop at 12 months. I'm just wondering how other moms handled the negative reactions!

What do you feel physically, (after a few days!) are you still puking, or dizzy, or don't feel well.

Its actually my best friend who is having the baby. She has 3 other kids, Alena, Elias, & Julian. So she likes to keep her kids' names unique and beautiful.

I want to breastfeed,
but i will have to return to work after
2-3 months after hes born
and i will also be returning to school
winter classes start around dec-jan.
I think i will be too busy and too tired
when i am not busy to try and pump
because i heard it takes up a lot of time
and i would have to try and pump at work
and etc, and at my job its not possible
we only get two 15 min. breaks

Should i breastfeed and then try and wean him off a couple weeks before i return to work and school. Or should i just give him formula to start, i want to give him good breatmilk and nutrition because i know thats what i need to do as a mother, but at the same time i dont want it to be a struggle for us when it comes time to go back to work.

Also, i have no idea as far as bottles to go for, weither i decide to pump last minute or formula, is there bottles that i can use for both? just get different nipples, even tho i want to breastfeed at first,

DH is trying to start grad school in 2009 and we are debating when to have children. We know we want to have one while he is in, but are not sure to try for next year or it being born right before school. I am a teacher so job is not a worry. What do you think?

I'm 36 weeks pregnant and have been feeling lots of pain and pressure on my uterus and vagina. I just used the rest room and realized something didn't feel "normal" while wiping. So I reached down to check and it feels like my vagina is swollen and slightly raised. I thought I leaked some fluid last night and this is my second baby. Anyone have this or know what's going on?

My cousin just had her baby. Was a girl, and she had kept the name a surprise from everyone...here it is:

Phinneus MacAbelle Powell

In otherwords, in everyday life this little girl will be Phinneus Powell...do you like that? I didnt even know that was a girls name...poor kid...

Btw i would never tell her the name sucks, im just wondering if its just me, or if everyone finds that strange..

I'm wondering if I am going to be denied unemployment if I am pregnant? The requirement is you must be "ready, available and capable of working full time" and being pregnant, you still are capable. If at first I put on the form that I was unable to work full time, which isn't true but I botched it, but then spoke with someone over the phone at the agency afterwards and told them I could- they said I had to wait until I receve paperwork so I can fill out an eligibility form and then they sent me a medical form I had to fill out but I just sent it back and said that I have no doctor or medical condition I would need one for so we can just clear up this mess... now they say my account/case is impending investigation of availability and I'm not going to be paid until a decision is made (in my favor). So I don't know what the heck to make of it all... does anyone have any knowledge or experience w/ unemployment?

We just found out that he is allergic to Cow's milk and our pediatrician says that he has to have enfamil sobee next step. The problem is we already switched him from formula to milk and now trying to get him to drink the formula again is almost impossible. He just spits it right out and crys. I took a sip to try to convince him but my feelings about the taste are the same. Any advice??

Different and unique baby names seem to be the 'in' thing. I personally am more traditional with names like Charlotte, Audrey, Benjamin, etc.

But, there is this one name I just can't help but love that is on the unique side! It's Jett. I like Jettson, too.
Do you like the name?
What about the name Jettson with the nickname Jett?
