I'm wondering if I am going to be denied unemployment if I am pregnant? The requirement is you must be "ready, available and capable of working full time" and being pregnant, you still are capable. If at first I put on the form that I was unable to work full time, which isn't true but I botched it, but then spoke with someone over the phone at the agency afterwards and told them I could- they said I had to wait until I receve paperwork so I can fill out an eligibility form and then they sent me a medical form I had to fill out but I just sent it back and said that I have no doctor or medical condition I would need one for so we can just clear up this mess... now they say my account/case is impending investigation of availability and I'm not going to be paid until a decision is made (in my favor). So I don't know what the heck to make of it all... does anyone have any knowledge or experience w/ unemployment?

Yes, you are eligible. Due to the fact that you ARE ready, willing and able to work. Unless otherwise stated by your doctor, you are eligible. You just will have to go to unemployment meetings, and continue to 'look' for a job. Goodluck...If you would like to talk about it more, you can email me. I went threw same exact thing.

How far along are you? You can get up to 26 weeks of unemployment. You have to be actively looking for a job, but that doens't mean that you have to take the job. All you have to do is show that you are trying to find gainful employment.

You can be ready and willing to work while pregnant, especially if you aren't real far along. They shouldn't deny you just because you are pregnant.

If you were working, why are you not applying for short term disability?
