Pregnancy & Parenting - 4 August 2007

I was just wondering what people on here thought about having kids but not deciding to get married right away. I've noticed that whenever I ask a question I get a lot of crap from people who want to tell me that I need to go ahead and get married but I know I'm not the only one out there who has had kids when they arent married. Why do people on here seem to think that if you get pregnant you should just get married? Aren't there situations where that may not be the answer?

im 8 mons 35 weeks preg is it normal for my baby not to sleep i fell as if she is up all day and all night theres not a min in the day that she is not kicking me what dose this mean is this right??

Our 3 year old son does not seem at all interested in learning new things, for example, we have been trying to get him to learn to ride a bicycle (with training wheels), learning to play baseball (at least to hit the ball with bat), swimming. He has no desire. For the swimming, my parents have a pool, I try to encourage him to wear the arm floaties or his life jacket, he won't wear either. Tonight we were at a community pool, he was the only person in the baby pool. He will try to ride his bike for about 2 minutes if that and says "I'm done" and that is the end of that. I am disappointed when I see children younger then him or children his same age doing things that he can't or won't do. I understand all children learn at different stages and rates. I am concerned this might turn out to be something more. Is this something to be worried about, could this just be phase he is going through? Any suggestions on getting him more interested in trying new things?

i have a four year old daughter she hasnt bin sleeping properly for a month now she has a fear of snakes now i live in brisbane and there is no snakes where i live plus its too cold for them this time of the year she often wakes up screeming saying there is snakes in her blankets and on her i thought it was just bad dreams but it keeps goin on and on im so tyred i just need sum answers

My friend has been watching her boyfriend's 2 kids (girl-7 & boy-9) while he is at work all day. Her first time really being alone and responsible for them. The girl just does not mind and will do exactly what she's told not to do. Won't eat anything but junk food and constantly makes messes....the boy cusses directly at his sister, pulls her hair... the two together are almost an embarrassment to take into public. When dads at home (at night before bed and one full day per week) he does little if any disciplining for their behavior. What should my friend do???

My 5year old daughter constantlly points things out, loudly in public. Examples: she told one lady that she has big teeth, asked a woman with a large tummy if she was pregnant, said something about someone in a wheel chair, points out peoples age and race. She does not mean to be rude and doesnt say the statements in negative ways more of an observation and I'm sure this is somewhat normal but I dont like it and do not know how to make her stop this. Help!

I asked a while back for first names to go with the middle name Wayne... I didn't really like many of the answers... they just didn't fit...! The baby's last name would be Kennedy. So his name would be
____________ Wayne Kennedy

The middle name has to be Wayne because my boyfriend is the 5th Wayne and he wants to keep it in the family!

I am not pregnant... just wandering.
Our girl is going to be Emalee Nicole.

My husband and I are expecting our sixth child. I am now about seven weeks pregnant and even though we don't know if its a boy or girl we want to try and decide early what we are going to name him or her. The other children I have are named; Will, Damien, Jenna, Brianna, and Jared so I don't have a "theme" for names and any suggestions will do and I would rather ask this community for suggestions than a baby name website because I prefer having suggestions from real people, I want suggestions of names real people like and would use themselves rather than a website that only has lists of every known name. can you feel when start to dilate? I have been having pelvic pain really bad and when i went to the hospital they said that my cervix was closed but it was soft that was about 2 weeks ago and i just started two days ago getting these bad pains down below so much i didnt even want to get out of bed anyways i was just wondering thanks :)
