I took a pregnancy test and it read negative, but eight min's later it started to show a fant line in the other window. What does this mean?

Probably an evaporation line BUT...this is exactly what happened when I was pregnant with my second son. It took about 5-6 minutes before it turned positive. Try again with the first morning urine...but don't count out the pregnancy yet!!

It means the test sat too long. I thought I was pregnant for 6 mo. at the age of 17 because I wasn't having a cycle and the pregnancy tests would be positive after about 10 min, but when I finally went to planned parenthood and explained why I thought I was, she laughed and told me that after about ten minutes the chemicals in the test start to break down and will leave faint lines. I'm 85% positive you aren't pregnant, but if you're paranoid, buy a digital(clearblue easy was nice, I used that when I actually was pregnant) or go to Planned parenthood or your doctor for tests. You have to read the test at the time it says on the box or you may get a false negative. An evaporation line can form if you wait too long. Take another test tomorrow, check it at the correct time, and you should know for sure.

Was there a certain amount of time that the test said that it wasn't accurate anymore. Most of them are 10 minutes, but read the box.

It means that you are not pregnant. You are supposed to wait 2 minutes to read most pregnancy tests. If you wait long enough, it is possible for a man to test "positive".

usually after a few minutes, the test is no longer accurate.. try taking another test and see what happens.. if the same thing happens, you might want to go to the doctor
