Get the vaccines!

They do NOT cause autism, and even if they did, autism is not death. My son has autism, and his vaccines did not do anything except protect him from diseases. He was "off" from birth.

In my opinion....Autism is pure genetics. I'm not social, I don't like going out, and I'm a total moron in social situations. Same with my son's father. If you go on websites run by people with autism, they will tell you they don't want a cure because there is nothing to cure. It's a different way of life.

My little boy is amazing, and I couldn't picture him being a "neuro typical" child. Autism has been around longer than vaccines, it just wasn't labeled properly because the term didn't exist yet. There are stories of autistic like behaviors from the 1700's. Before Kanner and Aspergers, children with autism were labeled deaf, retarted, products of uncaring mothers and everything else you can think of.

Get the child vaccinated on time.

This is a subject of much debate.

As of today, there are no studies proving a link between vax and autism. Autism is a very complex spectrum disorder. We really don't know what causes it or why it is more severe in some children than others.

However, many many many parents of children with autism swear that their children were normal until they received the MMR vax. After that they started showing signs of autism.

I would urge all parents to read up a little on the diseases and make the best choice for their child.

Personally, I do not belive that all vaccines are neccessary. For example the Varicella vax (for chicken pox) is not harmful if you catch it as a child. If you get the disease once, your body develops an immunity that protects you for the rest of your life. However, sometimes the vax doesn't "take" and you can still catch chicken pox. Also, the vax could wear off eventually leaving you vulnerable of catching it as an adult when it is more dangerous. The problem is that since they are routinely vaxing children for this you have very little chance of catching it naturally as a child.

I try to take each vax on a case by case basis and weigh the risks of the disease for my child. We have chosen to do some of them, delayed some of them, and opted out of others.

No studies, just a theory based on a few anecdotes. And I believe they were almost all to do with the MMR vaccination. In fact, try a google. More studies are coming out all the time showing how there is no link. As to is it worth the risk, definitely. The diseases that vaccinations protect against are far worse than autism could ever be, not to mention there's a risk of death.

AUTISM IS NOT CAUSED BY IMMUNIZATIONS.

Want to know if it's worth the risk? Ask your grandparents about polio...see if they think it's worth the risk.

Or look at a picture of a baby who has contracted measles, mumps or rubella.

Or listen to an audio clip of a baby who's come down with whooping cough.

Please get your child immunized. Please. Everyone is entitled to make their own parenting decisions and I support those who make different decisions than I would. But not getting your child immunized is the same as letting them ride in the back seat of a car without a carseat.

Some diseases are no longer around for a reason: IMMUNIZATIONS!

There is no offical study to quote.
It is just a theory.
The diseases that are covered by the shots are much worse to die from then the risk of autism.

There is a study that says Autism has not gone up in numbers. In the past autism was often called retatdation.

After lots of reading, I do not know for sure if immunizations cause autism. I think there are other environmental factors at work. Check out http://discovermagazine.com and www.mothering.com

There are zero medical studies that link autism with the mercury in vaccines. When mercury was removed from different vaccines, there was no correlating decline in diagnosed autism cases.

Also, when comparing rates of autism. Current medical practices label some children as autistic, when previously those children would have been labeled mentally retarded.

Vaccines do not cause autism. I'm about as paranoid as they come regarding vaccines, but this claim is simply false. Autism is more closely linked to TV than to vaccines.

They dont cause it. Read about pertussis and diptheria and how babies die from it and u will run to the dr for a shot. The CDC is recommending boosting the varicella now for chicken pox--so hopefully, it will "take"--see other answer.
