Pregnancy & Parenting - 15 July 2007

Our 20 month old son made his first bid for freedom last night by climbing out of his cot. We must have put him back in about 30 times before he finally fell asleep exhausted at 11pm.

We lowered the side with the thinking if he's going to get out he will so we may as well make it a bit safer for him.

Is it time to go for a proper bed?

He will just climb out of it all the time - I'm dreading it!

i'm 13 years old and my parents are so dumb. i dont listen to them because i dont have to and i never asked to be born! i dont like listening to them. i curse at them, however i have freedom of speach! so they shouldnt care! they are so dumb and i have no problems telling them that! they need to stop telling me what to do! i get mad at them and mess their room up, and then they actually grounded me!they shouldnt have made me mad in the first place i dont care. it didnt teach me anythign. what do i dooo. they are so ridiculous!

I'm having real problems with my teenager, they are very rude and defiant,speaking to me nastily and doing things I've expressly asked them not to do,and refusing to do things I have asked them to do.

I try really hard not to but often I just end up getting really angry at their disrespect and defiance.

The whole situation is making us both miserable, and I'm just losing the will to carry on, I feel like I have no rights as a parent, that everything I say and do is wrong and I'm condemned to just putting up with it forever more.

I feel utterly powerless.

I don't want my teen to be unhappy and I don't want to feel so despairing about our relationship.

I have no idea what to do.

Please help.

if I wait till I'm done college I'll be 37. I'm afraid that's too old (considering baby's health, ability to conceive etc) but I'm also afraid the work load of college and baby will be too much. Anyone with this experience?

I 'm using some plastic bottles to contain milk for my babies, every time I use I boil them, but I wonder it is still OK if I continue to re-use them like this after 6 months?

my son who is 5 months old spits up alot after almost every feeding and cries constantly all day unless being held (sometimes doesn't work), walked around, swung, looking at moving objects & etc... what do you think this could be? my Dr. 1st diagnosed him with baby G.E.R.D. & then said maybe he was colic. so i tried giving him the perscription of zantac he took it pretty well but still spits up and cries all the time. If theres any suggestions out there plz... help thanx!

Need to decide name in next 24hrs, as per US law need to register baby boy name within birth of 24hrs.

I have a three month old and I really do not want 2 put her in daycare until she can talk, but we are starting 2 struggle a little bit and I may need to work before I planned. Am I wrong for considering putting my baby in daycare so young? I do not have any family to watch her.

hi guys, okay the thing is, i havent gotten a period this month. but there are some things that make me wonder if im pregnant again or not. i am breastfeeding my 4 month old. and ive heard that breastfeeding delays a period. BUT i've already gotten a period twice, both times were regular like (about 28 days apart) but i didnt get it this month and my fiance and i had unprotected sex twice (he didnt ejaculate, because he put a condom on) well i was suppose to get my period around the 5th. (its the 15th now) but ive taken two home tests that came out negative (BUT with both my past pregnancies, home tests came out negative while i already pregnant, ive never gotten positve home tests) so what do yall think? if i dont get it by next month ill go to the doctor, but i wanted to know if anyone has had this happen or knows something who has had it happen and what was the result, a baby or not? (btw, i welcome another baby, just im curious)

My daughters 7th birthday was last weekend. We had it at home, a fairy theme, and I hired a 'Tinkerbell' fairy queen to entertain the kids. The thing is, it cost x dollers per child who attended (after the nominal fee). That was fine, but I explained this in the invites (which were given out 3 weeks ahead of the date), and asked for definite RSVP's from parents. On the day of the party, 8 parents who hadn't RSVP'd showed up and dropped their kids off, 1 mom even dropped off her other 3 kids, another mom dropped off her 9 month old! Am I right to be annoyed, is that incredibly rude or am I over reacting? I stressed on the invites that a fee must be paid per child, which is why RSVP was so important, I ended up paying out an extra $235 on the day to cover all the extra kids! Should I say something? Obviously I know not to invite them again, but to the parents who dropped off the extra siblings as well, do you think it's worth saying anything?

...this doesn't seem to be working-Please help...Any suggestions? He seems to be happy and fine but cries a lot b/c his bum hurts and is really red and rashy. Not sure if we should also start giving him Pedialyte b/c he has had in one day 4 poopy diapers. Help please all the moms out there!!!

I stopped breastfeeding my 7 week old son about 3 weeks ago. I had a really hard breastfeeding him, he didn't latch on easily. I did pump in the mean time. I had a defective pump and all it did was suction. I went atleast 10 days without any milk out-put. I went to a lactation consultant and got things going right. Since I had such a short time with my milk, I didnt get a good supply. Now, going through all that hell, my nipples have very low feeling...Has anyone experienced this?

I have a 2 yr. daughter, anyone who knows me would tell you that I am a good mother....except my in-laws. My daughter loves her grandparents to death, and my father in law will come and get her for a couple hours a day. He "tries" to be controling and overbearing, sometimes I just let it go to keep the peace. Today he really got under my skin and we had kind of a falling out. He came to pick up my daughter and seen that I had a hair dryer plugged in in my daughters room, he started saying that it didn't need to be plugged in and this and that, I blew him off and went about my way. When he brought her back he didn't say a word just walked in went in her room jerked it out of the wall, flew all over me!! I told him don't you think I know how to raise my own child, he said no, and we got into it, he left pretty quick. My problem is, I'm thinking of telling him that until he knows how to act in my house, he isn't picking my daughter up, does that sound mean, what would you do??

Okay I know you will think this is kinda slutty... My ex and I were still dating and we broke up. I didn't think I was pregnant in the beginning but now I am really thinking that I am... My boyfriend at the moment does not want a girlfriend with a child. I do not know what to tell him without him getting upset and leaving me... In the beginning of our relationship I told him that it was possible. But then we stopped talking about it and now I am freaking because I have missed 2 months and I have been having different symptoms of someone who is pregnant. I have talked to everyone I know That I was but I do not want to him to leave me. I hurt thinking about it and knowing that he will leave me.
