Your child should start preschool at the age of 4. If your child has any developmental delays, disabilities, or behavioral problems, then he needs to go to school as soon as possible.

Kindergarden in the US is for children ages 5-6 year olds depending on their birthday. They do offer preschool classes for children beginning at at 3. Usually only a couple days a week for a couple hours at a time. This is more than sufficient for younger kids. I personally didn't put mine in until they were 4 but we also have a lot of little kid activities in our area that we joined in on. We did reading programs through the library, story times at barnes and noble. Play dates at one of the gymnastic places, mcdonald's playland, parks, zoo's etc. I felt at 2 & 3 my kids still need to have a structured schedule with naps. Socialization with kids is good but they don't get a whole lot out of it till they are a little older.

I think your son should join kindergarten at the age of 5 years old because that is the normal age for kids to usually start. But some children do start kindergraten at 6 thats also normal.
Hope i helped!!!

It's always good to have your children socialized with others their age. However, you would have to review the guidelines for the area you live to determine what age is appropriate for entrance into kindergarten. While some US states have early entrace at age 4 (in which children are subject to IQ and psycological testing), but most have cutoff dates that state your child has to be 5 before the 1st day of classes. Also, if you live in Canada they start children out younger. It all depends on where you live. I would highly recommend daycare or preschool if you would like to get them started early (at which you can do at any age)!!!

Most kids are 5 going on 6 during kindergarten. Any earlier than that, they struggle with maturity. Also, most school districts have very specific rules for when students are allowed to being kindergarten.
You child certainly could join some type of preschool or early childhood program and that would help him to develop key skills he will need for kindergarten.
