I am 38 weeks pregnant today, and my mom keeps insisting that I take some castor oil now! I am already 1 cm dialated and I am very ready to have my baby, but I am very scared to take it. My mom took it and said that she didn't get sick, and she was in active labor 7 hours later. I don't know how to react because it's my mom so I don't want to not listen to her, but as well I am very scared that I will be sick. I am curious if I was to take it and I am in the bathroom on the pot, and vomiting can the castor oil make my baby pass a bowel movement inside of me? I know how bad it will be if she does. Can someone help me..........any prior experience? Help. How did your body respond?

Well i was late on my period and the last possible day i could have my cycle i had bleeding but it was bright red, thin, almost like it was 1 part blood and 2 parts water and i would "dry out" by mid day and have no period by the end of the day. It happened for 5 days (normal cycle length) but it didnt feel right at all. The things i go through when i have my cycle (cravings, irritations, cramps) didnt happen. I did 4 EPT tests (the one that says "pregnant" "not pregnant") in the morning using a cup. 1st day pregnant, 2nd day not pregnant, 3rd day pregnant, 4th day not pregnant. waited a week went to hospital had urine test taken, said not pregnant (test required morning urine, i gave them mid day). Bought cheap tests that same week and over the days it said not pregnant (using morning urine in a cup). So the question is am i pregnant or not and if not was it possible that i miscarried, failed to fertilize or the egg drop or something? i never had a false positive. what i can i do???

My 15 year old daughter coooked some Gordon's fish sticks for my two year old son, she fed it to him but does not rememeber the exact cooking time, she says the package said 14 -16mins. and she is guessing it was about 14. The baby ate a bunch should I be extremly concerned or will he be ok?

I recently had an argument with my mom because when she picks my son and daughter up to spend time with them at her house and they get dirty, she bathes them together. My son is 6 and daughter is 2. We don't even let him see me changing my daughter's diaper! My mom thought I am raising them with an ancient philosophy. Thing is I really feel strongly about this. Am I wrong? What else can I tell her?

Don't get me wrong- he is the love of my life, the most fantastic son, I don't want him to leave.....but I guess I assumed he was moving out at 18 like my brothers and sisters and I did. Doesn't everyone want to get out on their own at that age? I mean, college, dating, all that "growing up stuff?"

Am I crazy for having secretly wanted this for me and my child?

Hi girls. We are ttc and I have 2 questions--1. At the doc's office when they do test for progesterone (to confirm ovulation), if the conception did take place and the test is done aroung 8 days after ovulation, will it show positive pregnancy too, or they check for different hormone only? 2. With the last period that was pretty weird (less than usual bleeding, and 1 day passing some clots) any idea of having got pregnant should be absurd. But what could it be that I am feeling nausious, boobs got enlarged and a bit sore, mild cramping and high soft cervix? I don't keep my hope since it is silly, but I just don't get the point what's going on. By the way, additional question-- when you check for cervix before ovulation, is it the same firmness in the morning and evening? Mine feels a bit firmer in the morning and very soft in the evening... Is it normal?

I had a miscariage about four weeks ago?
I had stopped bleeding but i was getting a mucus discharge. Then i started bleeding again my doctor told me that it could be my period to wait until monday to go see him. It looks like i am going to stop bleeding but now i am getting the mucus discharge again. are this sings of an infection? Should i wait till monday or call my doctor again?

I'm 17 yrs. old. My mother's recently kicked me out of her home. We've always had our differences since I was a young child. My father pays quite a hefty amount for child support every two weeks. My mother refuses to give me any of this money at all and says by the time the courts would finish with this matter I would be 18 and wouldn't get any money anyways. In my custody agreement it states my father is to pay child support until I turn 18 unless I'm still enrolled in school. The school year starts on September 7th and my 18th birthday is September 12th. My father has no problem paying child support. My mother just refuses to give me the money so I can pay for the things I need while living with my aunt. My aunt has 4 children of her own and taking on another person in her home is obviously expensive. I'm also pregnant and not currently employed. I'm not trying to just take all the money from my child support and blow it. I have very real things to take care of right now. While I don't have to pay rent, food and other needed items are quite expensive. I have no other income. Can my mother really withold all of my child support if she's not even supporting me? I'm in serious need of advice here. If she kicks me out do they just stop child support all together? How does all of this work? Thank you for reading.

My wife breastfeeds (which yes I know is great for the baby) in front of her mother and our 11 year old daughter. Her mother and daughter stare at he like it is a spectator sport. I think this is totaly strange I can see if she covered herself while they were in the room but there is no cover. Is it strange for thinking this is strange when they stare at her breastfeed with bare breast and all?

I was under the impression that breastfeeding was for the most part to be private and intamate bonding for baby mom and sometimes dad.

So I had sex, with a condom..my first time so I freked..took the pill and 6 days later got my period on the 20-24th of june, and I got another period just yesterday..my doctor said It's normal because the pill can affect your body hormones..should I be okay, or can I be pregnante even though I came up NEGATIVE in all 5 tests..? Ok I went to my first appointment today and got a sonogram. They say I'm 7 weeks and 4 days pregnant I took the test like the week before Father's Day and found out I was pregnant. My LMP was May 8th according to that I'd be more like 9 weeks. I had what I thought was implantation bleeding on the 21st which would make me anywhere from 10 to 11 weeks. I'm thinking I have to be like 9 weeks. Cuz I don't think you can have symptoms of pregnancy like right after you conceive. Can you? According to the dr I would have found out I was pregnant when I was 2 weeks. I took a Clear Blue digital is it possible to find out that soon?

Okay, so my husban is a forest firefighter which takes away from home a lot....which makes it kind of hard to get pregnant. While he is gone on fires, he is usually gone for 2 weeks. My question is, because we can't have sex during this time, and his sperm is built up, is this bad? He gets home tomorrow, and I got my first positive ovulation test today. What are the chances of conceiving and are his sperm going to be good? Kind of a funny question!
