Pregnancy & Parenting - 13 July 2007

As a child and teen I swore I would not do alot of things like my parents. Now I find (my daughter is 3) that I am starting to act alot like them. I hated my dad for over-reacting at silly things. Like when we spilled a glass of milk at the table. Christ we would be physically dragged from the table, given a slap or two or three and thrown into our bedroom. Now when my daughter does the same, I have to bite my tongue, I really want to shout at her. I wont do it cause I know how it made me feel. But why do I want to? Why do I feel like I have the same traits and reactions as them, even though i said I would be different?

My 5 month old son is not in daycare right now, but will need to be soon. Seems to me that the couple of colds he's had have lasted about 10 days each.. I know that once he starts daycare, he will get a lot of colds.. Am I supposed to keep him home while he has a cold? I definitely don't want to be inconsiderate to the other parents and kids, but I don't want to lose my job either.

i have posted before, but i need some extra advice please = )
i have been reading several websites where they all say that you can get pregnant anytime, not just when you are ovulating.
my husband and i are ttc. my last period started june 25th. we have been trying since june 15th.
my periods tend to be a bit irregular. they always come, but over the course of 6 months, they tend to arrive around a week early each month.
lately i have been experiencing what i think are pregnancy symptoms.
my symptoms include:
my breasts seem to get a bit bigger each day and are very sore.
larger bumpy areoles and nipples (nipples are getting darker and stick out more)
little headaches that come and go several times a day
queasy throughout the day
my sense of smell is a bit stronger
extreme fatigue that requires a long nap each day
just a general odd "not feeling so well" feeling
a runny nose

it is too early to take a test. could this mean that i am infact pregnant?

My friend is pregnant again after having a healthy baby boy almost 5 years ago and 3 years later, she had another baby boy who died a month after he was born due to a heart defect. In the 2 years since, she has had 2 miscarriages...all in the first trimester. She is pregnant again and is about to enter the second trimester in a matter of days. So far, everything looks fine. She went to the doctor the other day and heard the heartbeat. Is she safe when she enters the fourth month or is there still a chance of another miscarriage?

Honest answers only, I have been to the ER twice with contractions, this is my 3rd child and I have never had this problem before. I honestly want to know what are my babies chances of survival at only 23 weeks along ? I am praying that this doesnt happen but if it were to I just wonna know.

During sex, if he uses a condom and ejaculates in it, does he have to pull it out right away or can you continue having sex with the semen inside the condom? Would the condom break? Also, these condoms are lubricated with a spermicide.

I had morning and evening sickness with no actual vomiting up to 6 1/2 months pregnant. All of the sudden it came back @ 36 weeks in the middle of the night and in the morning. Is this normal or should I be concerned?

We have a 17 month old son. He has been on a very consistant schedule since about 4 months of age. He dropped his morning nap around the time of his first birthday but has continued to take his afternoon nap every day after lunch (11:30). He goes to be each night by 8pm and has a very established "bed time ritual" that we use before naps and bed. (story, song etc)

We are very careful about the types of food and beverages he consumes, we don't do juice or any other high-sugar foods.

Nothing has changed in our lives/eating habits and he isn't cutting any teeth (he has them all already) and yet suddenly, he will no longer take his naps! I continue to lay him in his crib at the same time every day, but he just sits in there and happily talks to the walls! I have been leaving him in his crib for an hour and a half each afternoon but he just won't sleep!

It isn't making him cranky and it isn't affecting his bedtime, but it just seems to early to be giving up the nap!

Advice??

I seem to be having all the pregnancy symptoms in the book but the sore breasts. And I wasn't having nausea either, but just last night, that started up.
Usually, by breasts get sore before my period comes, but my period is due either today or tomorrow, and there is no soreness whatsoever!

I can test today, but I'm waiting til tomorrow morning.

Anyway, I'm just wondering how many women out there had symptoms before they tested positive, but still no tender or sore boobs.

I went to the Dr for my monthly diet pills and he came in the room and told me he would not be able to prescribe them this month b/c my pg test came back positive. However, a couple of days after this, I started my period and its really heavy. Im really confused now. Has anything like this ever happened to anyone? Ive had 2 other pregnancies and this did not happen.

As I was growing up, my mom always tried to hide me and my brother from my dad, and she would tell us mean stuff about him daily. He is a good man though, and is the one who got custody of us and raised us. I know many other children who have moms who do the same thing to them, I don`t get why they do this? Its like they don`t want their children to have dads. I think most of the time the dad gets fed up with the moms doing this, and basically just gives up and leaves. Anyone know why moms do this to the kids?

my son is 21 weeks old he wants to self feed ( he wants to grab my food and when i put a finger food in his hand he brings it to his mouth. and tried to drink from a sippy sup.
if he is to young when will be the best age.?
if he is ok to self feed what is the best foods to self feed
and whats the best sippy cup to use for his age.

you should know he has gerd and can't have foods with lactose in it.

he eyes are food and trys to grab at it.
