if you want a name with an e i would go with:
elijah
and his nickname could be eli
but if you want a name with x (you dont make it very clear)
i would go with xavier.
if you are set on the name xylan, you should make it his middle name, cause there will probably be someone who will make fun of him.
you could name him elijah xylan
my parents were set on the name azaria, but though it would be a teasing oppertunitty, so they named me brittany azaria

A good boy's name with an E is Evan, but there is also Eric and Ethan!! I like the name Xylan and i'm 14 and would have never made fun of him considering i've never heard of Xylan Rasberry!! But if you're really worried you could always spell it Zylan!!

Xylan Raspberry is probably an improvement over Exxon Valdez, but I wouldn't recommend it.
I like Evan, Edward, Elias, or Elijah. You could also start an "A" name with "e" (adjusting pronunciation to an "e" sound) if you are looking for something a bit different, e.g., Elexander.

I would strongly recommend you give him a name that is not made up and hard to spell. Some names today are just plain silly. Remember, a name is very important and later on in business people will make, right or wrong, judgements just by the sound of his name alone. Give him a name that has dignity and honor, not XYLAN!

I'm not thinking that Xylan is going to work because most likely people will pronounce it wrong and it will eventually annoy your child. So as far as E names, I like Eian Gregory.
