hehe no, after all that pain i wanted a nice surprise...after all i knew i was having a baby so the gender was the last surprise and im glad i didnt. i was convinced i was having a girl, when the registrar said it was a boy i asked him to check, i glanced across at the resucitator and there was my lil man legs akimbo showing off the family jewels with pride! was wonderful not knowing
oh by the way two of my friends were told they were having girls, bought everything pink and all pink clothes etc and they both had boys! nothing is a certain till baby pops out!

I want the surprise. When my baby is born and the doctor holds it up and says "Its a boy (or girl)!" I dont want to be like, "So? I knew that already."
Plus I've found it really keeps me from buying a bunch of cute baby stuff that I dont need. After the baby is born I will be able to buy more practically because I will be spending my money on food and diapers first. Before the baby is born is a time to save, not to blow money on clothes the baby might grow out of before it even has a chance to wear it. I'll get plenty of that stuff as gifts at my shower and after its born. You never get the big stuff at showers, so I'd prefer to buy my stroller and car seat and stuff now.

We wanted the surprise and glad we waited even though we were very curious, its fun guessing all the way through and you get that special moment at the birth when you find out, i think it spoils that surprise element when you find out.
Also i don't understand the need to know, we got everything neutral and when she was born it was more fun going out buying pink clothes.
I had a traumatic birth which ended in a c-section but i'll never forget seeing the baby being lifted from my tummy and being told it was a girl, it was amazing.

My first two I preferred it to be a surprise. My logic was that there are so many nasty surprises in this world that the surprise of what my baby was just seemed like a fun and exciting thing to me. My last one we did try to find out because all of my girl baby clothes got ruined in my basement from a leaky water heater so we thought we wanted to know but he never cooperated with the ultrasounds so he was also a pleasant surprise. In the end I got so many clothes loaned to me from women at church that I didn't have to worry about what he was going to wear.

When I had my children there was no such thing as finding out before the big day.I now have three grandchildren and did not know the sex of any of them until the day and was glad about that .A surprise is much more fun.

I am to anxious to find out what I am having and I am only 11wks its crazy. I have tried the chinese calender, looking into the old wives tales, and can't wait to get a little bit further alone so that I could do a 3d of the sex of the baby if the Dr. is making me wait to late.

I've had three kids, pregnant with my fourth. I always wanted to find out, but envy those that have the self control and patience to wait.
I had decided to wait and not find out, with my fourth and current pregnancy, but have my 20 week sono in less than four weeks and I am very very excited to find out!!!
I think that regardless of "when" you find out, its still a surprise. I do agree with those that say it helps you purchase items, especially if you're on a budget or buy second hand/garage sale where things cannot be returned. It really is harder to buy things "non-specific and neutral" than it used to be!
Best wishes!

I know it's much more sensible if you can know the sex of the baby ahead of time and avoid a waste of time and money with the neutral colors and patterns, but to me it is just so much more fun when you don't know until the baby is born.

I have had girl, boy, girl. We wanted to know each time and I will want to know for the next children. I like having a name to call them instead of baby the whole 9 months.
