Pregnancy & Parenting - 20 February 2007

I just went through and ovulation phase(last week) and started taking prenatal vitamins 2 weeks ago. I am eating/drinking anything and everything that mentions folic acid. Do you think this is helping or am I getting enough with my vitamin?

Hello there

Our three month old baby has just started to reject his mother's breast, which is upsetting her enormously. He was always happy to feed from her breasts, but in the last few days he's been less inclined to feed from her left breast and this evening he's seemed uninterested in both. There's lots of milk in both breasts and she can't work out why he doesn't seem to want it.

Because our little boy fell slightly below the weight our health visitor wanted for him, we have had to use a bottle to give him tops of formula in the evenings, but we have always done that directly after a proper, full feed on the breast - so it's not like the bottle replaced the breast. We've been doing that for around 10 weeks and it didn't seem to have affected how he felt about the breast.

So, I guess we're looking for any reasons why a baby would suddenly start to reject the breast and any suggestions on what we might be able to do about it.

Okay, So I cant tell if Im oddly "sweating", peeing myself or leaking fluid. The past few day I found that my underwear have been moist, not soaked. Its looks/feels "wet" so Im assuming, its not discharge. I have also had a cold.. so I was thinking maybe Im accidently peeing myself when I sneeze or cough. How can I tell the difference? Should I worry about "leaking" amniotic fluids at 20 weeks? What should I do? Any siggestions would be helpful, esp if Im not the only one going through this!!

I have read all the clinical blah blah blah on basal body temp, ovulation calculators and cervical mucus...but any of you moms out there have some practical advice? You know, any advice that those clinical websites and books dont mention?

I know it sounds silly, but I am afraid that it will hurt the baby....does anyone else have / had this problem? I am in my 4th month, feeling great, baby has strong heartbeat, doctor said we both (me and baby) look great...so why am I so freaked out? My poor husband is being so patient but it has been 4 months and is starting to stress him out a bit......help!

period is supposed to be feb 18 and today is the 20th and i havent got it yet. my ovulating days were feb 10th 11th and 12th and i had sex on the 12th but ive been experiencing these weird pains (not cramps) below tha bellybutton.could i be pregnant? and i wanted to know did implantation have pain and when does it happen? please help because im worried:(

I'm going through a lot, and i really need a break from skool?
well i DONT wanna ditch, i wanna get sick so that i dont have to go to school, so any ideas, and please people dont answer me with" get runned over by a car" or "just go to school" give me some good ideas please! P.S. I dont wanna go to school cause i just need an at least ONE day vacation, because, since i go to a charter school, i've only gotten a 2 day long vacation, and i just feel overworked and stressed, and anywayz, tommorrow we are going to have a free day so that all we do is socialize, but i wanna stay home, so any ideas? Also, i dont think i need any more stress right now, since i'm couping with the death of a pet that was important to me to me :( oh yeah, my mom wont let me stay hme just like that so dont give me that suggestion plz , and i NEED to be sick so i could stay home :( so if i put a bunch of coins in my mouth, would that get me a fever or something?

If he's in my lap he likes to have his head hanging over and now if you're holding him, he'll throw his weight backwards so you turn him upside down. Is there a time limit to this and has anyone else experienced it? Do you think it's just the little head rush he gets? Thanks.

im only a few weeks pregnant. but already thinking about names for my baby to be. i dont no what it is yet. so im looking for girl and boys names. i love different names for girls. you no something unheard of. and for boys i love the old stronge names that have been around for centries. as of so far i have zoe for a girl and adian mikal for a boy, but they just dont sound right, so if anyone has a few ideas please write me back.

My sister in law had a baby girl in december and she doesn't bathe her everyday!!! she only bathes her a couple of times a week!! i think that's crazy but i just wanna make sure that it's not just me!! my mom told me that she bathed me and my sister every single day starting with the day we were born!! she said that there's absolutely nothing wrong with it!! she said she's just either too paranoid or doesn't like giving her a bath so doesn't because she thinks that becasue she's so little it doesn't matter. and i feel the same way!! am i the only one?!!

My sister in law is prego. She has a 17 year old daughter named Leela MaKendall... well she's 31 weeks pregnant with a little girl. She wants the name to be pronounced Like Lie-luh. I say you spell it Lila, she says Lyla. Which one is correct?? I also find it to similar to Leela.

I have been charting my cycles for the past 8 cycles, the one I am on being nine and I just started it yesterday. (I take my temp every morning and I observe my cervical fluid every day) For each of the cycles I have counted and I am concerned that I have a short luteal phase because for every cycle I only had appx 10 days from the time I ovulated until the day I started my period. Is there anyone who has experienced this and went on to have a normal natural pregnancy. This month was my husband and my first month actually TTC but we have been having unprotected sex the entire 8 cycles. We have only two more cycles until, a pregnancy would not be good timing, meaning I would end up having the baby during the middle of a school semester. These next two cycles if I get pregnant then I would have the baby during Christmas break and it would work out, anyway is there anything I can do to speed up the process and what can I do to naturally lenghthen my luteal phase? Thank you

My 5-year-old is supposed to start kindergarten this year, but because of some developmental / social delays, my husband and I are not sure he'll actually be ready for public school by August. Some people have suggested we 'hold him back a year.'
Does that usually mean a child starts kindergarten and repeats it, or would he do another year of daycare / preschool and start kindergarten when he's six instead of five?

My parents still think it's good that insulting is the best way to dicipline kids.I think one of the reasons why because my dad says im disrespectful because just awhile ago i was talking about my school work.
