I've always thought that "aunt" or "auntie" should be reserved for the actual aunt of the child (your's and your husbands sisters)
I understand how close you are to your best friend and that your baby is bonding with her as well but she's not the aunt.
I'd think of something else that's just as cute. What do you call your best friend? Does she have a nick name?
I get called "Ness" from my close friends
How about "Amico" It's friend in italian. Or "Amico _____" instead of "Aunt _____"
I guess depending on your nationality you could find out how to say friend in that language and baby could call her that. Very cute I think.

They always end up calling them something different anyway because usually they can't say the name at first and it come out different but it's so cute everyone repeats it and it just sticks.....let your baby pick it! I was suppose to be Aunt Shannette and now I'm Noo Noo - lol - I wouldn't have it any other way.

My kids called my best friend momma_____ and my older friend nana____ when they were little.
My youngest called one whatever came out of his mouth.Never the same thing twice when he was 2. It was so cute. It was not even close to her name and he would get the begining or the end all mixed up. Her name is Yolanda and he was saying
Momma Youlaydia or Yo yo longa.
So, I just started to call her Momma Yo Yo.
Her kids call me Miss charlotte

We're teaching our son to call our closest friends "Aunt/Auntie" and "Uncle". I think it's probably easier for them to remember rather than a bunch of nicknames.
