My parents still think it's good that insulting is the best way to dicipline kids.I think one of the reasons why because my dad says im disrespectful because just awhile ago i was talking about my school work. He was talking to me about how i forget alot. i thought he said if i was his daughter and then forget about him, he wouldnt mind. Then i said ''that didnt make sense''. he got angry and called me a crazy girl. Anyway, can you help me talk to my dad so i dont make him angry all the time.

It sounds like your dad needs more help then just *you* trying not to make him mad. Go talk to your school counselor and let them know what's going on. They will be able to get more help for you.

I know how you feel. My dad was and still is the same way. I'm sorry to say, there is probably nothing you can do or say that will help the relationship very much. I just did good in school (as best as I possibly could anyhow), stayed out of trouble and TRIED to stay on his good side until I was old enough to move out on my own. After that, I limited the contact I had with my dad and I was much happier. I just kept reminding myself that I am adult and I am in charge of myself and he is not anymore.

I know this is not what you wanted to hear, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel! Hang in there!

Woah insulting kids is not the best way to didpline them!Insulting kids will teach them to insult others, that's not didplining thats teaching them to be a bully.Try explaining to your dad that your forgetfullness was an accident and that you would try not to anymore. You might have been a little disrespectful to your father but raising your temper at you like that is not the way to take care of it.He shouldn't push you to make you do something, you should WANT to do something. You should tell him the way he's treating you is hurting you.I hope he'll understand and good luck!
