sterilize them in the dishwasher... then use scissors to cut a little slit in the end he sucks on. That'll take the air out and he won't enjoy them as much.

I did this with my oldest, who wasn't all that attached to them, and he just quit within a day. My youngest, though, was a pacifier addict. Had to have one in her mouth and one in each hand to go to sleep. I told her they'd all worn out, went to the store, but couldn't find any that were the same kind. So, we picked out the best ones we could find (she got to pick them)... and we had a conversation on the way home about how it was almost time to give them up... I insisted on running them through the dishwasher before she used them... and when she was distracted, I cut the tips off. She HATED them... I insisted they didn't have her old kind any more.. that this is how they make them now... and she whined for a day or two... then gave up. I also got her some new sippy cups she LOVED... and would just give her a bit of juice or water when I noticed her getting fussy...

Yeah 3 years previous is somewhat too lengthy to be having a pacifier :) a thanks to do it truly is to be somewhat devious or complicated. (now to not be advise) at the same time as she would not have the pacifier in her mouth, take it away and cover it and then at the same time as she asks for it, redirect her to a toy or supply her a popsicle to suck on. if she would not use them in school, and purely at bedtime and many times at the same time as watching television then you fairly're 1/2 way there. you would possibly want to be imaginitive. in case you do not have a popsicle reachable, then supply her a cookie. quickly she'll ignore about her pacifier. Use your mind's eye at the same time as it contains such issues as this.

My daughter's diarrhoea was a blessing in disguise. We explained to her she fell sick because of the germs found on her pacifier. She took her pacifier and threw it in the rubbish bin

I made my daughter aware that everything that she dropped on the floor was "yuck", i made a face and made her throw it in the garbage. She really enjoyed doing that. So on the day she dropped her pacifier,,,lol,,,i said, "yuck", made my face and she complied and threw it in the garbage, never to be seen or heard of again. It was that simple and funny as heck!!! Good luck...

my MIL is a speech therapist and there are several tricks to try. My favorite, shave off a little at a time. It will take away that secure feeling they get from having it there and they won't want it.

Talk about being a big girl and big girls don't do that anymore babies do it, and encourage her to throw it away. If she throws it away, she'll trasition a lot better.
