I breastfeed my baby in the am and pm, I pump twice a day and she has 2 bottles at daycare. I am barely able to keep up with the 2 bottles and do not want to supplement with formula, when can I give her whole milk? Do I have to wait until she is 1?

To give you some background: I create pencil portraits, and one of the things I do is portraits of deceased/stillborn/miscarried babies. I draw these from the photos and make the babies look sweeter than the hospital/death photographs so they look angelic.

The issue is that this is a hard thing to 'advertise' because I don't want to look like I'm capitalizing one someone's loss and pain.

YET, there are a lot of people who do want this, they just don't know it's available (I have had people tell me they were afraid to ask for this, afraid they would seem morbid to ask for it).

So far, I have tried Google keyword advertising here and there, and of course word of mouth is the best advertising. Hoping someone has some ideas on how I can advertise this service without appearing greedy or tacky! Thanks for your advice...if you have lost a baby, I would love your candid advice/comments.

My husband is due to go to Afghanistan for 6 months two weeks before our second baby is due. I will have to give birth without him but what really worries me is the subsequent 5 months. I know there are lots of single parents out there, but I'd be really grateful for advice as to how to cope. I don't have any familt members living close by and while I know I can ask them and friends to help out, I know I'll be on my own for a lot of the time. I want to enjoy my toddler and the new baby but I'm really worried I'll just end up getting run into the ground. I'd be really grateful to hear of others' experiences and how they coped.

I am putting together a book of sorts for my daughter at her graduation, these are the poems that are intermittently going to be throughout the book, which includes pictures of her from infanthood to adulthood. It is not a scrapbook however, anyways...thoughts on the poems?

But I did kiss you in the night
and chased away your nightmares;
and I made up stories and songs
that made you laugh full and strong,
and most times I was there for you
and recognized, most clearly
that facing you is facing me.

And I encouraged you to claim your life
and fight like hell for your right to be;
and the best gift I could ever give to you
was to say "yes" to your dreams
that were not my own.

They took blood to test for any std's but have not gotten the results back yet, until Monday!! I'm freakin out and need some help! This is my 4th preg, with the last one being an abortion because I had been on depo when I got preg and the baby would not have survived I was told...The other two pregs are now my 5 yr old son and 11 yr old daughter! HELP!!

My daughter has developed a really severe nappy rash. It is everywhere - all over her buttocks as well as on her bottom and groin and it's absolutely red raw. She is 21 mo and has three teeth coming through at the moment, but she has never had anything as bad as this before. She is always changed as soon as her nappy is dirty. We haven't changed makes of nappy, wipes or anything. At first I thought it was thrush and have been using canestan, but it just seems to be getting worse. I put sudocreme on after each change. Grateful for any advice because she became really distressed today and kept telling me her bottom was "ow"

As I Grow

~Author Unknown~

Please understand I am growing up and changing very fast.
It must be difficult to keep pace with me, but please try.

Please reward me for telling the truth.
Then I am not frightened into lying.

Please tell me when you make mistakes and what you learned from them.
Then I can accept that I am okay, even when I blunder.

Please pay attention to me and spend time with me.
Then I can believe that I am important and worthwhile.

Please help me explore my unique interests, talents and potential.
In order for me to be happy, I need to be me.

Please do the things you want me to do.
Then I have a good, positive model.

Please tell me by your words and actions that you love me.
Then I will feel loveable and will be able to love myself and others.

Love is patient.
Love is kind.
It does not brag.
It is not proud.
It is not rude.
It does not look out for its own interest.
It does not keep track of wrongs.
Love is not happy with evil.

She's tall for her age and right on if not a little below her weight level. I'm concerned that her tummy sticks out quite a bit. She isn't overweight, I know this because I can see her spine and ribs.

Ok so about a year ago I got into the bad habit of letting my 4 yr old son sleep in my bed. Once I got rid of his crib and into a bed, he wouldn't stay in there. I would keep putting him back in there but once 11 pm came I would give up and let him sleep with me. So it has now been a year and and I need to get him into his own bed because now he refuses to go to sleep unless I do. Some nights he is up until 11. Its hard because I am a single mother, work full time and go to school 2 nights a week. He will be starting kindergarten in the fall and i know that this has to change. What can I do to get him to fall asleep in his own bed at an early time?
