I think being popular is stupid. It is for people who don't have an original thought in their head. I like to look different, think differently, talk differently, etc.
I would take it as an insult if someone thought I was popular.

It depends if by popular you mean genuinely popular, as in, a real person with plenty of genuine, honest friends... or stereotypically "popular", who only considers friends and boyfriends/girlfriends to be another notch on their belt.
I have plenty of friends and I'm always happy with my group of friends... we talk about everything and we can always work through our problems and fights. My friends and I can make any situation fun, no matter how boring. To me, that's a whole lot more important than racking up a bunch of followers and then backstabbing them when they're not around - which is exactly what the jock/"popular" group does at my school.
I wear whatever clothes I like, sometimes I might use a celebrity's style for inspiration, but all in all I am an individual... it doesn't matter whether I'm wearing something that's in style or fashionable or not, as long as I like how it looks and feels.....
Who cares if you wear brand name clothes or not? Brand names shouldn't generate friends. Friends aren't accessories... or at least, they shouldn't be.

. I go to a really small school. Like fourteen people in one grade. No one isn't popular, so it really isnt a issue at school, but what girl doesn't like to turn some heads when she walks down a sidewalk? I'm not the top of the A list in my class but i am definatly not at the bottom and i'm happy where i am.
Honestly i don't care one way or another, if i wear American Eagle, or Faded Glory, or some thing no one has ever even heard of. As long a i like it than it's fine.

When someone says that they are popular, it means that everyone knows them and likes them....all of the snobs at schools who are well known by people but are hated are not considered popular. Popularity does not come from the clothes that you wear or however you look....it comes from the kindness you give to people. I don't think that popularity is important: this is me, take it or leave it...I don't really care if someone doesn't like me, we share this planet. That's popularity!

It's times like this that I think of the bumper sticker on my science teacher's door, "respect your nerds. One day you'll be working for one." I have vans with pink penguins on them, which are way way cool. Especially because no one has them. I only wear things that I think are cool or funky. I don't look like anyone else in my school. My friend took me to a small party-type thing, and I was wearing pumps, my ballet tights (pale pink) and the legwarmers I also wear for ballet. My friend told me, you can't seduce anyone like that and you're not wearing any make-up. You're not going to get guys like that. And I was like, um don't care. And guess who wound up with two different guys falling all over me and a date and who wound up all alooone. I'll give you a hint. I may have a date this Friday. Basically, once I stopped caring what the heck everyone else thought, they thought I was cool. lol. It's true that you can only really be cool when you honestly don't care. I only care now, because I care that I am, which is cool. Not to be confused with popular. I hate popular people. I can't tell them apart and they're lame. I think high school is ridiculous. I know teachers think most of the high school students are ridiculous as well for buying into all this crap.

Aw sweetie don't worry. I was popular in high school, and to be honest ...I really didn't like it very much. It was so restricting. Just be yourself.
You'll love college. There's not such thing as "popular" in college. Everyone's completely unique. It's much better that way. Just get through these few years being as nice to everyone as you can and then have a blast where you seem like you really belong ...at a university. Ciao, Darling.

Well, I'm not incredibly popular either, but being popular really does make your life at school easier. I mean, if your popular no one makes fun of you and everyone wants to go out with you and be your friend. If you have good, suportive friends that you enjoy being around, you are just as "lucky" as a popular person. I also find it stupid that in order to be popular you have to were AE clothing, and Hollister, Abercrombie, you know.
