You don't want to overreact. Just stay calm and take a nap. Tell the child to wake you up if she gets any other symptoms

It depends, how long has the child been running a fever, what are the other symtoms? Is he/she listless, eating, drinking fluids? These are all questions that sorry need to asked. I'm sorry, as a Mom, I do know how frustrating this is. Your at your wits end, wondering what to do. Can you possibly call the hospital and ask to speak with a nurse to advise you if you should bring your child in or not. I hope this helps. again, I'm sorry that your little one is ill. Take care,

How fast can you get your child dressed warmly enough and out the door! A five year old with a 104 fever should be taken to the hospital IMMEDIATELY ... but don't put 'as much on' as they 'usually' wear in that weather, but do carry something 'warm' to bring them home, because the 'temperature' is high enough, and you want to keep your child as 'cool' as possible, even if it tells you 'I'm freezing!'

After giving him/her a does of childrens Tylenol or Motrin, if the temp does not go down significantly or if it shoots up high as soon as the medicine wears off, then get them to their DR or to the ER asap.

A 104 degree temp for a five year old would be like 110 for an adult. What are you waiting for, get that baby to the ER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

104? and Tylenol doesn't help? Take them to the hospital or clinic already, unless you're trying to cook their brain.

Soon as you took it you should of grabed him or her and headed out to the door to either ER or there doctor. Its very dangerious they can have heat stroke or even die if its left for to long. I would say go to the doctor like now or there will terrable problems or even death.

You should call the pediatrician ASAP with a fever that high! If you tried Tylenol/Motrin, a warm bath, and nothing works, I'd take him now.
