In order for labor to start you will need to lose your mucus plug and break your water...which is the sac around the baby protecting it. Once you begin to efface you will start to notice light spots of blood which is usually your mucus plug.

It is always best to have support with you, however if you are unable to have a friend/family member there with you then usually the hospital will have GREAT nurses. They will be there regardless if you bring support or not. So as good as it is to have someone you know, rest assure there will be someone there.

Giving birth is hard work, like running, so you will feel very hot. You'll probably be in a thin hospital gown (or nothing at all) with no underwear or bra.

I definitely think that you should have someone you trust and feel close to with you in the labor room to give you support - the baby's father, ideally, or maybe your mother or best friend. If no one is available for some reason, the doctors and nurses will give you support, but it's not the same as having someone you love there with you.

Not sure what you mean by 'remove' but its a good idea to have someone with you to talk to and hold your hand. A friend, family member would be a good idea if you don't want the father their.

Well, you can't have pants on!! You may want your partner or a close family member or friend w/ you. Try taking a childbirth education class as well.
