She's tall for her age and right on if not a little below her weight level. I'm concerned that her tummy sticks out quite a bit. She isn't overweight, I know this because I can see her spine and ribs.

in regards to the spine and ribs, doesn't show that much... I was just giving an example of she's not overweight. She's usually on the 40-50% for her weight, and its not because I don't feed her, its because she doesn't eat. I wanted to be sure that nobody would make a stupid comment of her being overweight. She's 15 months old.

I dont really think it is normal to be able to see a toddlers spine and ribs. I have a 2.5yr old, and he is in the top 75% for his height and weight, but, my nephew who is 3, he is in the top 90% for his height, and only at the 50% for his weight, and even on him, we cant see his ribs and spine. But i do believe that most toddlers bellies poke out alittle, no matter their height and weight. I would get her to a physician as soon as possible and rule out intestinal parasites and such though, because you shouldnt be able to see her ribs and spine.

it could be acid reflux, excessive gas, worms, but more than likely it her body type. I have two daughters and one had it and the other didnt. There is an old wise tale that says a little girl with that body build would grow up to have great pregnancies. Her body was made to handle the big tummy in youth and so her hips were formed that way. But my little one who had the big tummy doesnt have a tummy at all now. It started thinning out at around the age of 3. Good luck and dont do what I did and that is to worry about everything.

Because young children usually have correct posture and aren't trying to hold their gut in. It's normal.

Alot of toddlers are built like this. Don't worry she will stretch out and look like she is more in proportion soon.
