I am being induced tomorrow since I am past my due date. The doctor said they were most likely going to use a catheter to stimulate the cervix to contract and then use pitocin...

If you were induced, how did they do it and how did it go? How long were you in labor?

I dont think a 10 year old had any business with a call phone. Why would anyone buy a 10 year old a cell phone. I know she is just trying to buy him off he already hates visiting his dad because dosent get his way.

Dear Doctor,

I wish to apply for an operation to make me sterile. My reasons are numerous and after being married for seven years, and having a child each year, I have come to the conclusion that contraceptives are absolutely useless.

After getting married I was told to use the "Rhythm Method." Whilst trying the samba and the tango my wife fell pregnant, and I ruptured myself doing the Cha-cha.

My doctor then suggested we use the safe period. At this time we were living with the in-laws and we had to wait three weeks for a safe period, when the house was empty. Needless to say this didn't work.

A lady of several years experience informed us that if we made love while breast-feeding we would be alright. It's hardly tastes like Coors, but I finished up with clear skin, silky hair and another child on the way.

Another old wives tale was if my wife jumped up and down after sex this would prevent pregnancy. After breast-feeding (from earlier), if my wife jumped up and down she would have ended up with two black eyes, and even knocked herself unconscious.

I asked a chemist about the condom. He demonstrated how easy it was to use so I bought a packet. My wife fell pregnant again, which doesn't surprise me, as I fail to see how a Durex stretched over the thumb can prevent a baby.

My wife was then supplied with the coil and after many unsuccessful attempts to fit it we realized that we had got a left-handed thread and my wife is definitely a right-handed screw.

The Dutch cap came next. We were very hopeful of this as it did not interfere with our sex life at all. But alas...it did give my wife a severe headache. We were given the largest size, but it was still too tight across her forehead.

Finally we tried the pill. At first it kept falling out, then we realised we were doing it wrong. My wife started then to put it between her knees, thus preventing me from getting anywhere near her. This did work for a while until the night she forgot it....another child resulted.

You must appreciate my problem: if this operation is unsuccessful I shall have to revert to oral sex. Although I don't mind just talking about it, it could never be the same as the real thing.

My son has been told by doctors to have autism, hyperactive and slight attention defecet. I feel all those characteristics are vanishing and he is becoming normal. He did not speak anything till 3 months back, but now he is using nearly 20-25 words, he is saying abc and 1,2,3 till 10 and correctly identifies them, in a jumbled form and anywhere he sees it. He repeates what we say. He is using only 1 word to communicate like he wants water, he will just say "water". Please advice how can I improve his speech. He has to join in pre-kg this year.

I am 20 weeks pregnant and have a cold. I have been sneezing like crazy! I can deal with all that. BUT A little while ago, when I was standing up I sneezed and peed my pants! I am 12 and my 18 year old brother is having a baby with his girlfriend. The baby will arrive sometime in February 2007. I am very excited about it. Anyone else here lost a baby etc..ever get hurt at the sight of all those pregnant woman and moaning ones...i lost one in july(ectopic) and since have been so depressed i hate the thought of it could have been me blah blah...why is this not leaving my mind?i feel terrible every second of the day all my thought are pregnancy,babies,pregnancy...My husband is away for 4 months service so there will be no baby making do you think this is contributeing to my stress?

At 8 or 9 in morning is his breakfast
12 or 1 is his lunch
5 is his dinner
9 or 10 is his milk feed
So how do we change his routine so he goes to bed earlier but still gets his milk at night?We just want some time together too so any advice would very much appreciated.Thanks.

In about a week and a half, my husband, 5 month old baby, and I are picking up some of his family at the airport. Then next day we are beginning a 3-day road trip from Indiana to Arizona.

If you were in my shoes, would you take a 5 month old on the 3-day road trip, OR would you FLY to Arizona (about 5-8 hours) and wait for the others to show up?

Why?
What are the pros and cons?

Kind of a complicated scenario so bear with me.

I am taking anti bitotics for a throat infection. Last night my daughter (13 months) opened her bowels in the night and now she has rather violent nappy rash. Its not the first time she has pooed in the night, but its the first time she has got nappy rash as a result.

I read on some website that if a baby is on antibiotics it can contribute to nappy rash, because the antibiotics kill off the bacteria that usually prevent it. I suspect she may have got some of my antibiotics through my breast milk. Is this at all possible?

we have been together for 3yrs but we have been having unprotected sex for 1yr 3ths. he had a hernia at one point and had to get surgery, i wonder could that effect our chances. well everytime we have sex is is unpreotected and we have been living together for this amount of time and nothing ever happend. im hind od gladd i never gotten pregant because im only 20 and he is 21 but at the same time i wonder if we will ever have kids. what do you think.
