You can only get pregnant when you are ovulating. which is around the 12 th day of your cycle and lasts for about 48 hours. The egg gets fertilzed while in the fallopian tube. It takes two weeks for the egg to travel the distance to the uterus. If it is not fertilized within a day of ovulation it will dissolve and be absorbed by the body and within in two weeks the uterus will shed its lining. Which is your period. In other words when you had unprotected sex there was no way you could get pregnant since the ovum or egg was already history. When you can get pregnant is in the middle of your cycle. I still would always use protection for protection from getting something other than pregnant though.

If it truly was your period, then no, as ovulation would have occurred at least 11-14 days prior. If you don't want to become pg, use protection!!!! If you are tryin to get pg, thn you need to get to know your body and when you ovulate. Good Luck! Just wanted to add re the comments of "being able to get pg any day of the month".. NOT true. These women would need to be OVULATING almost every day in order to get pg this way. You ovulate once each cycle. The day could be different depending on how long your cycles are etc, and some bleeding during a cycle could indeed be implantation bleeding and not a period, but you can NOT get pg each day of your cycle! Totally untrue! Just means they did not know when they ovulated, nor do they know their bodies. ALSO, an egg needs to be fertilised by the sperm BEFORE it is able to implant in the uterus. Implantation occurs 5-7 days after ovulation/fertilisation, therefore before a period, which is why you would not get a period (normally) if you were pg as your rising progesterone stops the lining of the uterus shedding.

yes, that is a risk associated with having sex, protected or unprotected. Most likely you are not, but the chance is still there.

Not likely, but unprotected sex always carries the risk of pregnancy. It all depends on when you ovulate during your cycle.

It's not likely-but it IS possible! Be more careful next time sweetie! I know a condom spoils the mood sometimes, but try a SCREAMIN' BABY WITH A LOADED DIAPER!!! Now THAT will spoil the mood!!! Good Luck Hon...=)

If you got your period, then the chances are very low. Don't worry about it.
