Pregnancy & Parenting - 7 January 2007

My 4 year old refuses to do things for himself. He won't put his clothes on and he won't pick up his toys. He constantly whines and tells me he can't do it before he even tries or tells me he wants me to do it. I know he can do these things, because I've seen him do them before. I want him to be able to do the little things without having all of this trouble.

My 3 year old is showing all the signs of being ready.
>Tends to be dry all night
>Is able to hold it, and then go to the potty chair and excrete both urine and feces
>Very interested in the whole process.

However, he has to be nude from the waist down. As soon as underwear goes on him, he stops holding and excretes.
It seems to me he is associating anything on his bottom as something he can go in. I need to change this in his mind.

Any suggestions?

He had a pacifier until he was 6 months old. We replaced the bottle of milk instead as per suggestions, and now give him a little water instead. He screams like he's in agony--unless we give him that to suck on. We've tried giving him a little bit of water, and he screams for more. The last two nights we've given him no sippy cup--since he also wakes up during the night for it (and is subsequently wet). He's been screaming bloody murder for a few hours before he conks out! Any suggestions?

My daughter is 9 months old and has sleep with my husband and I in our bed since she was a month old. How do I get her to sleep in her own bed, in her own room? And I don't like to cry it out method. Also, she has to have her pacifier to sleep, so she wakes up every time she drops it, so I have to go into her room and give it back to her every couple of hours. Any advice?

okay, it was saturday night, he had a friend over, (by the way hid friend was a guy) it was like 1:30, i woke up to use the restroon, i walked passed his rooms and herad strange sounds, i slightly opened the door and looked in, i was shocked at what i saw! my 14 year old was having gay sex with his friend. he still doesn't know that i found out, but i didn't tell my parents, should I? I've been on birth control pill for years and I got off of it during my last menstral period. That was beginning of Dec. I did have unprotected sex a week after my period. Last couple days, I've been having weird symptoms. I noticed: sentivity to smell, indigestion, mild heartburn, lower abdominal cramping, light brown spotting for 2-3 days, little repulsive toward food that I usually liked to eat (but not nausea), craving for chocolate, get hungry faster, feeling cold most of the day, night sweat for couple nights...also some food tasted weird (sour)
So I took 3 HPT and I got VERY faint + sign. I showed it to my bf and he said that he could barely see the sign. Next day, I went to the dr, did the urine test, came out negative. Dr did internal exam and STD testings...all came out normal. I also got my blood work done and I am getting the result tomorrow. Could I be pregnant even though the Urine testing at dr's office came out negative?

i'm currently 20 weeks pregnant and couldn't be happier, but a friend of mines just had to have a abortion for medical reasons and even her own mother isn't talking to her. if she'd had the baby she'd have died and most likely the baby too. evn if she didn't it would leave the baby mother-less which is hardly fair on the child knowing that childbirth killed it mother! so why does every1 think straight away ur a bad and evil person if u hav a abortion?

I am tired, I have a non-stop headache, and nasuea. Everything I think about eating makes me sick. I'm drinking ginger ale and eating what I can. I have to go to work tommorrow, and I don't want to use my sick leave now, is there anything I can do to feel better and well enough to make it through work days in the coming weeks?

My ex-wife is of the opinion that she should have two "homes" rather than "home" and "mommy's house." I'm of the opinion that a child should have one place to call home . . . that it provides an anchor, a sense of stability. Who's right here? I don't want to take anything from my ex, and I want to be sure I'm not being selfish here, but I really feel like my daughter's interests are best served by having one place to call "home."

Okay. All the people that insulted me on the last board don't bother to post. I was all for smacking your kids. I was raised being not just smacked having my *** beat. The only smacking I would ever do to my child was a few smacks on the hand. I am hearing my step mom ***** about it and even though I hate her I am considering what she said. screaming fit throwing monster!!!! He has spent the better part of the past month, Screaming at the top of his lungs almost all day! Is this the 'Terrible 2's'? What can I do to make this STOP! (He's 20 months old) and I'm about at my wits end, With him and a 7 week old daughter to care for...He literally stands at my feet, jumping up and down and screaming at the top of his lungs, And he wants me to hold him CONSTANTLY!
