I am expecting but I'm not sure whether I am having a boy or a girl yet. My husband and I decided that if I was to have a boy that his name would be Daniel and his middle name to be James. If we were to have a girl we would named her Ally and her middle names would be Elizabeth. Do you think these are cute names or would you change/add names?

So, a good friend of mine has a daughter exactly 9 months younger than me. She lives in another state and so we primarily communicate via email at least a few times a week.
After he daughter was born, I sent her some very nice gifts, things I found really helpful and she made it a point to tell me that didn't use them.
I send pictures to her and never receive a "hey your daughter looks cute, what a great smile" or anything like that. I thought I was being paranoid, so I stopped mentioning my daughter and sending pictures of her. I also made it a point to talk about her daughter. Thinking that eventually she would say something... Not once in the past 2 months has she mentioned or asked about my daughter.

I would also like to add that I make it a point not to "brag" about my daughter to anyone else with kids because I hate it when people do that.

Is it possible she is so wrapped up in her own child, she doesn't even think about mine? What should I do?

Do you like the names Carmela and Carlotta?

Do you think they would make good names for a sibling for Annika?

ok well i asked a lot of questions last month about being pregnant and what not. But ever since then and even before my period was extreamly tired and i still am even after my period. i sleep 10 hours at least and im still dead tired at night like i can hardly stay awake. im more hungry then ever. and thats about it. But my period which i got Dec 30th till the 3rd was shorter and it was a normal period to begin with then it just turned into the brown stuff you would get like at the end of your period and lasted for 4 days. and that is all i had from then on. i had my normal cramps and heavyness the first day then by the second it was brown discharge like. i was just wondering if anyone has had this and been pregnant and please dont just give me some off the wall answer becuase i wouldnt do that to you. Thank you.

I have the wierdest feeling now.

You know how in magnets, opposites attract, right? And how some metals and elements aren't magnetic? Well, I feel like I'm copper. Nobody's attracted to me.

My friends have their own magnetism ways. EJ has long hair, and he racks up phone numbers faster than you can say "Santa Anna." And Chris, well, the girls go to him like mice to cheese.

Me, well, I keep on the quiet side, listening to my iPod on the bus or looking at the sky, or thinking about my old friends in Japan.

If you're wondering what girls I talk to, I talk to Therese (in English and lunch), Erin (math, science, reading, and anywhere possible), Halie (we're just lab partners now), and Allie (I'm getting her to like me, okay?).

I just feel so wierd right now since I'm so alone with no girl by my side all the time, telling me how cute I am and stuff.

So, my final question is: Am I a wierd outsider due to my lack of a girlfriend?

My daughter doesn't want to hug or kiss us as often as she wanted to in her younger months. She is 19 months old and If I ask her for a kiss.. she'll turn her head and make a no kind of expression... I don't ever force her to give hugs and kisses... but it is different from how she was 3-4 months ago.

By the way, nothing drastic has changed in our home so why is she doing this? and what can I do to get more hugs and kisses from her if there is a way other than just waiting for her to hug or kiss me... sigh... :)

There is this girl in my music class is who is in grade twelve. She got pregnant in August but didn't find out until September. Every single day, she always talks about how sad she is, how terrible it is, etc. She never stops talking about her pregnancy, anytime anyone mentions "baby" or "pregnancy" she always jumps up and acts totally happy about it. It's really starting to piss everyone off and even the teachers at my school tell her to quit it. But she never does! What would you do in a situation like this? (Rude answers will be ignored).

OK..my son is 12 and I took him to his yearly check-up today, let me start by saying NORMALLY I love my kids doctor and the reason I love him is because he's old fashioned (not as far as treatments go, but with his "bedside manner), he's down to earth, straight forward, holds nothing back, BUT today I do believe he crossed the line. Like I said, my son is 12, he HATES shot's (who doesn't), he wasn't expecting one because I didn't know he was getting one, or I would have prepared him, so, when the doc. pulls out the needle my son gets teary eyed, he tells him to grow up, sticks him with the needle, my son pulls away, needle comes out, doc says "good, now you get stuck again" When its all said and done, my child is still crying, the doctor tells me, IN FRONT OF HIM, "better go buy him a dress mom, he's acting like a girl" and walks out! I was dumbfounded! I comforted my son, and walked out feeling like i was hit by a truck! What would you do? Help please.

I use the Chicco key fit which they are now saying only use with a seatbelt, not the base. Luckily my daughter will have a new car seat by tomorrow since she has outgrown hers anyway. I can't find any safety ratings about the Eddie Bauer Montecito or any stage two car seats or convertible seats. Anyone know of any good websites outside of national safety and traffic admin.

I was just doing some research on this and it seems to be rare but im still a little nervous about this happening to me. I am a healthy 23 year old and am 31 weeks pregnant. As im getting closer im getting scared about a lot and having a heart attack and dying while giving birth is one of my fears. SHould i be worried about this? I have been short of breath with some heaviness but i was guessing it had to do with how smushed eveything is. Is this normal? Thanks i know i sound crazy but im a worried first time mom.

My son and my brothers girlfriends daughter do not get along. She is 2 and he is 21 months old. They fight all the time. She trys to kiss and hug him and he doesn't like it, he fusses and pushes her away. When she is just feeling mean, I guess, she pushes him on the floor and tells him no no all the time. This has been happening for along time now, and I can' t help but giggle a little bit. My brothers girlfriend is babysitting my son now and the fighting is getting worse. My son smacked her accross the face the other day. How do we get them to stop fighting? We tell them that's not nice and not to hit, but that don't work.

My baby shower is coming up in the next few weeks. My first host was planning to come from out of state to throw the shower but now she can't get away. My second host all of a sudden says that she has a class that day that lasts all day long. I'm putting them behind me and thinking about the shower.

At this point I have people coming from out of state who have bought tickets to come, so I don't want to cancel the shower, and for me it's not about just getting stuff because we pretty much have everything, it's just a time to celebrate with family and friends.

Do you think it would be in poor taste to ask one of my invited guests to assume host duties with the game for the shower?

It sounds like the states gives you ultrasounds by like 8 weeks pregnant? I am from Canada and normally have to beg for them because I've had a baby pass away inutero. I'm just curious if it is the way it is done out there. I think it is great if so.

I was wondering if anyone has any advice to help speed up the labor process. I was in the ER last night and they said that i am just starting the early labor stage. I am not even a cm yet. I was just wondering how I can speed up this process, or if you cant how much longer does it usually take till I go into active labor.

I don't know if I'm out of the loop here, but I just heard about the idea of a "pushing present" today on the radio. I know my own thoughts on the matter here, but I wondering what yours are?

If you think it is a good idea, what do you think is an appropriate gift? Where and when should it be given?

Also, shouldn't I get my boyfriend a gift for being such a great support to me and the mental and emotional stress of seeing what is happening to me and not being able to do much for me?

If you are out of the loop as much as I am, it is a gift given to the new mother by the father as a reward to giving birth, basically.
