Pregnancy & Parenting - 24 December 2006

My Mom has been raising my little sisters daughter for the past 3 years. My sister is 21 and takes no initiative to raise her own child... so my Mom has taken over and my sister can do whatever she wants. She still lives at home with my parents, goes to college (when she feels like it) and doesn't have a job. I am 28 and I have a son. I work only 1 day a week and my Mom watches my son (and my niece) just that one day. But I'm getting upset because she just doesn't seem interested in my son. She dotes on and is obsessed with my niece who she says is "more my (her) daughter than her (my sister) mothers!" I come back from work and she is ignoring my son who she leaves to roll around on the floor and is catering to my niece. It seems like she isn't into him and it breaks my heart. I'm starting to not even want a relationship with her anymore. I've tried to talk to her about this and she just says "I love them the same" but it's obvious that she doesn't. What should I do?

I took a pregnancy test this moring, and I swear if I hold it at an angle and squint my eyes, I can see a faint positive line. Now I know everyone is going to say, weight a few days and take another test and/or go see a doctor. But I want know if anyone ever took a test that was this faint and what came of it.

For Breakfast I like to cook my eggs so the yolk is runny. You know, cook it on one side and then the other and not break the yolk so in the middle it is raw I guess, but cooked,.......Just wondering, is that okay to do when pregnant?

My baby is 3 weeks and she only sleept the first 2 1/2 weeks when you held her. Now she likes sleeping on her stomach. When shes sleeping i prop her up on her tummy on a pillow like she'd be sleeping on my shoulder but im affraid to let her sleep like that at night so i cant watch her. lately the only way she'd sleep is with me. when she sleeping and i put her down on her side or back she wakes back up and crys. any advice?

my left nipple is very sensative and i haven't gotten a period in 2 months.

could i be pregnant i got my period for 3 months since my last intercorse they all came at the same time same flow, im expecting my next period january 8-9 and i dont see or seem to notice any symptons of pregnancy like morning sickness i havnt got.. tender breast .. no.. and im on birth control..
my period lasted for like 5 days.... could i still be pregnant? on my period.. as far as the 4th month of ur period? is there any other way besides pregnancy test that u could find out if your pregnant or not?

My friend's wife won't tell anybody about her risk factor to get pregnant.
She wants to have child but at the same time she is very afraid
that she will die if she gets pregnant. Her husband tried everything
to convince her ( including seeing a Pshycriatist) but she is still afraid. She told her husband that she had some problem
before marriage ( abortion/sterilization type ---guess) but she won't tell it to anybody.

Now the question is : is there realy any basis of her fear ? So far I know that what ever problem she has is treatable by a good Doctor ? Am I right here? Should not she just go to the Doctor and tell everything?

Missed period. First home pregnancy test came positive just today, 25th of december. Significant symptoms other than this, none. The feeling is overwhelming. My son has came straight out with me and told me that, "Rikard" was bullying him baout his looks. My son takes after his father: tall, black hair, green eyes. I walked him to Rikard (real name: Richard) and gave him a letter that requests an apology. Rikard slugged him in the face. This happened today and now Jamie is in the hospital. Oh crap! I posted a comment about my friend who had no children and her unwanted advice for me. I think people didn't get the whole story. I got upset with her cuz my kids were acting up (like climbing on tables) in the restaurant where we had lunch. Her advice was for me to ignore them she knows cuz she watches supernanny...I told her that I was sick of people who don't have children giving unwanted advice to mothers. I don't think people should impose their opinions on others especially when I didn't ask for it and when I was already aggitated with my kids who didn't want to listen. The whole incident sparked some bad childhood memory of her mother. So for some respondent who said I should listen to her...well I won't. I admit I don't know everything about parenthood and will seek advice when warranted; however, for someone who lacks experience in children and who's only bad experience is her own childhood, I won't seek advice from her. It's like asking a homeless man for financial advice.
